The management here seems nice enough, and the inn looked all right. However, we booked the condo ("Oceanview," though you'd have to crane your neck to see it, a block from the beach) that the inn also rents out. No photos on the site, and if we had seen them, we would have gone elsewhere. It's got a rusty, peeling exterior, but the appearance of the place (the inside looks a bit better) isn't the biggest problem. First off was the fact that the parking spot under the condo was blocked every time we tried to park there -- we had to hunt down who was blocking our space in the surrounding condos, and ask them to move. Even then, it was a tricky, two-person maneuver to get our full-size car into the small, tight spot. (If you know Tybee, you know you've got to have parking there.) Next was the musty smell that greeted us on entering the condo. Though the condo looked ... well, it looked very generic, but OK -- but the beds felt like lumpy cardboard. We might have shrugged all that off, but the last time we had to (again) hunt down the people who were blocking our space, the guilty parties were belligerent, rude, and probably drunk. It was a very unpleasant process to get them to move. The whole place just creeped us out, and about the time I realized I didn't want to sleep there, we both decided to leave. I called the innkeeper, who was shocked, claimed they hadn't had a complaint in two years (sure enough, there's a journal there full of praise from former tenants), but told us where to leave the key. That was all -- and we were glad to go. I don't like to make complaints, but I wish someone had written a warning like this one before we booked here. This might work well for a family with kids, or people with a small car, or if you happen to visit when you don't have a series of people who ignore the clearly posted signs about the parking, as we did, but it's not for people looking for a quiet, pleasant, uncomplicated getaway.
