“Fantastic B&B with all the amentaties”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Tybee Island is a quiet piece of Georgia and the Tybee Island Inn is the best on the island. My wife and I went for a long weekend trip in September. I called Lloyd, the owner, to set up our reservation. We tried the "innkeepers choice" for room selection. We ended up with the Dolphin room. The room has a king bed and is on the second floor. The only problem with the room was that the free wifi was not strong. The common rooms are very comfortable on the main floor. There is a fantastic snack area on the main floor. All sorts of candies, munchies and fresh bakery items are there for the taking all the time. I have stayed in several B&B's and Tybee Island Inn has the best snack area I've seen. Lloyd presented a great breakfast and is very knowledgable about the house and island. I would definitely call him to get some ideas when planning your trip. One tip, there are shuttles that run from the lighthouse into Savanna for a nominal fee. The B&B has all kinds of beach chairs, toys and towels. We were leaving late in the day and they still let us leave ourbags, offered the beach chairs and called us when my wife left her hainging clothes. Please dont come to Tybee with staying at the Tybee Island Inn and eating at Sundae Cafe!

Room Tip: We used innkeepers choice and got the Dolphin. It was very private and comfortable. The first floor...

We have stayed at many B&Bs and Tybee Island Inn is at the top of our list of places to return to. Lloyd & Julie are exceptionally warm and welcoming hosts. They take time to share details of the inn and island with guests. The inn is well kept and charming. Breakfast was always a real treat. Julie's baked apple pancakes with pecan sauce are unbelievably yummy! Our bed was very comfortable. The spreading live oak covered in Spanish moss provides a romantic canopy over the inn. We highly recommend a stay at Tybee Island Inn!

My daughter, grand-daughter and I spent four days here and it was amazing. It was staying
in the home of a good friend. So relaxing and quiet, away from the business of the south end of the island. We stayed in the Lighthouse room and the balcony was like being in a tree house.
We loved it and are planning to return. The breakfasts were great and Julie is the best!!

Room Tip: The Lighthouse room is nice and big and has a view of the lighthouse from the balcony - great!!

Everything was perfect except for the room, we had the Sea Cabin, which we felt was below average ... needed some TLC/freshening. Corner shower was maybe 3x3, stopper missing from sink, loose toilet seat, uncomfortable seating in the small sitting area on bar stools.

Everything else was perfect ... anbience with the live oaks is hard to beat, breakfasts were great, house is very interesting and well decorated, and coffee is availabe as early as you want it.

My wife Patty and I spent the most rlaxing weekend at the Tybee Island Inn. After driving down from Atlanta (4hrs) we were welcomed by Llyod and Cathy Kilday. They were so helpful in advising us as to the best placeto sight see, resteraunts and the attractions (Fall Festival), The room was super clean and quiet. We slept like logs (the king size bed was roomy and just rigt. We started our next day with Bannas Foster. It was delicious. Sight seeing in Savannah and at Tybee was great. The weather coud not have been better. Cathy put out tastey deserts at 4PM which we ebjoyed on the breezy front porch. I travel frequentkly at Siemens and Cathy and Lloyd really have captured the right ambience for their inn. I am going to recommend their bed and breakfast to freinds when we return back to Atlanta. (we will return soon).

My husband and I had just stayed in two other B&Bs in the past month, and this one was absolutely marvelous! The breakfasts were beautifully presented and so very tasty. Julie is very helpful and sensitive to any health issues or dietary restrictions. Much better than staying in a cookie-cutter hotel! The Dolphin room was well decorated and homey. Lots of hot water, even towels you can take to the beach, suntan lotion, hats for the beach. It has been a truly amazing place to stay, and we'll come back again soon!

Room Tip: The Lighthouse room and the Mermaid room both seem to be perfect for couples on their honeymoon. Bu...

This was Our First time using a B&B and they set the bar "HIGH" .We used the Sea Cabin , it was all we needed at a VALUE that made it worth returning again and again. The Inn had a Gourmet Breakfast , the staff was very helpful ,and the Inn itself was OUTSTANDING.

The two person Bathtub was what a couple needs to rekindle the togetherness , Added with crackers and a bottle of your favorite Wine is all that needs to be said . ( candles are not allowed it is a 200+ year old building) I am 280lbs my better half is only half of that, yet we had room to move in this tub.

They furnish or help you find everything you need to enjoy your time at Tybee..
