Thank you for staying with us and for posting a review on TripAdvisor. I appreciate all your feedback regarding the check-in process. My team and I do our absolute best to accommodate early check-ins. If a guest's room is ready, we check our guests in immediately. If the room is not ready, we issue a complimentary parking pass and encourage guests to use the pool or beach. As you mentioned, there is a long thin parking lot between the hotel and beach. Surprisingly, it has been there for almost 100 years. For first time guests, we encourage them to go to our website click on the "Rooms" page, scroll down and click on one of the ocean view virtual tours. It allows you to experience the room virtually and walk out on the balcony. The large trucks that you see off the balcony to the right would not normally be there. We were hosting a large Hollywood movie production at the time and they were shooting on the beach that day. I really appreciate you mentioning your experience with intoxicated visitors and appearance of our downtown area. On a daily basis, our island hosts thousands of vacationers from all over the world. As you can imagine, our visitors come from all walks of life. Since we purchased the hotel two years ago, I've learned that different times of the year attracts completely different visitors. "When" you come to Tybee Island (including the specific days of the week) significantly influences your overall experience. I have no doubt that if you were staying mid-week this time of year, that you would have a COMPLETELY different opinion/experience. I dare say you would completely fall in love with every aspect of Tybee Island. It's similar to attending an Orlando amusement park during a peak season weekend (park is dirty, it is Tarzan hot, guests spend an hour or more in line to get on a single ride, etc.) and non-peak period (park is spotless, cool and literally no lines to get on a ride). The two experiences at the same park are polar opposites and leave visitors with two different experiences. I encourage any guests to reach out to me directly if they have questions or concerns about an upcoming visit. I'm always here to help.
Hope you'll come back and give Tybee Island another shot. Until then...safe travels.
