“Interesting Day At Fort”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

Very Interesting for 5 graders to learn history. The boys really like the firing of the gun and how it worked. Also climbing on top to see out at the sea. They really liked the gift shop in the Fort Area. Also the grounds were very pretty.

“Probably more than you expected”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

This was a wonderful park and monument to visit. We went there because we heard it was good place to see birds - it's what I do. Anyway, I was really impressed with how well the place was cared for. The fort itself and the history behind is a good enough reason to go, but there are nice, easy trails that lead to the river and lots of scenic places. I'd highly recommend it if you're a history buff or just want to relax away from the crowds.

Been to Savannah and Tibee Island several times and would not take the time to stop. Big mistake!!! Well worth the money (only $5/ person).

“Exceeded my expectations!”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

I like a good, historic military fortress as much as the next guy, and Civil War locations in particular, but Fort Pulaski was really outstanding. The architecture is more than impressive, the grounds and setting beautiful and immaculate, and the story behind its rise and fall gripping.

Excellent guided tours by National Park pros, or wander on your own. They have a nice little theater with an excellent short movie that tells you all you need to know about its history. The brickwork is awesome; the many cannons like silent sentinels.

One of the best, and cheapest, attractions around this area, and one of the better historic military sites I have seen in my travels along the east coast of the good 'ol USA. Second only to Gettysburg.

“Experience history!”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Take a walk on the upper deck and look away to Tybee like the Confederates did as they beheld the cannonballs coming their way. Take time to walk around the exterior and see a shell still stuck in the exterior wall.
