This restaurant is right next to the pool at the Beach Colony Complex. We went in the evening and it should have been packed with customers. The view of the ocean is beautiful. The tables were huge, plain, white plastic; and they seemed to get in everybody's way. When our server finally came, we ordered tea. It was so bad. I had fried shrimp and oysters. My sister had fried shrimp and scallops. We had to flag down a server to get salt/pepper and butter. Many servers seemed to be passing our table every few minutes. My shrimp was good, but the oysters were tough and almost burned. The coleslaw was good also. This is not a pleasant place to eat. The servers seem to be scurrying around doing nothing.

We recently stayed at the Beachside Colony complex and it was super convenient to Marlin Monroe's. You're a 100 yards from the ocean, 10' from the beach and 10' from the pools so it doesn't get anymore convenient than that. The food was very good....the coconut shrimp was really good, the flower pot bread was a hit and my partner quickly consumed her salad. Service was just extra slow and the place wasn't that busy the night we were there. They offer some flavored drinks but were out of the first two flavors I wanted to try...but overall a pretty good experience and perfect if you are staying within walking distance!

Stopped in for a quick lunch while waiting to check into our hotel. There was a light drizzle out but we decided to sit outside on the covered dining area anyway. Our waitress informed us there was a make your own Bloody Mary bar going on and even though I'm not a huge Bloody Mary fan I decided to give it a try. We had a hamburger with hush puppies and the Mohito chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple and French fries. The food was good, drinks were good & view was good... you can't ask for much more!

Haven't been here in a few years and we were disappointed that the beach patio doesn't extend as close to the beach as it used to, I loved sitting out there on the very end - it was like daring the surf to come get you! Besides that, the place is pretty much the same. The servers were attentive and polite. The house wine was fair. The food was just average. Like another reviewer, I wish they would focus on trying to make just really good bar food and good fish and forget the "gourmet" dishes. It's not working out that well! Also, you can't have a quiet dining area just a half-wall away from a sports bar area, especially when it's football season. That's not working either!

At Marlin Monroe's, you can dine inside, on the beach patio, or at the poolside cabana. We stayed at one of the condos at the Beachside Colony for our family vacation and spent a great deal of time at the pool. Access to Marlin Monroe's food and drinks was very convenient, and the waitstaff at the pool is very attentive. It's a little pricey, but no more than any other restaurants on Tybee Island. The portions are typically very generous. We highly recommend the Mojito Chicken Sandwich, the Grouper Sandwich & the Crab Quesadilla. The Cabo Shrimp Cocktail is also excellent. Even though there are only 3 large shrimp, the salsa for the multi-colored tortilla chips is loaded with shrimp. Drinks were good, too, especially the Margarita, Bloody Mary, Killer Lemonade [lemonade w/vodka] and Long Island Iced Tea.
