The amount of history is overwhelming! Go with time and during the months of the off seasons its pretty dead and none of the little cafes are open.

Very interesting place as part of the last fort built in the late 1800's after authorization a hundred years before by James Oglethorpe.
Severl massive concrete batteries here as part of the fort. Some other parts in the area like bakery, post theater and officer housing.
Sad to say that some of the other batteries are now condos with poorly designed housing on top of the structures.
This battery has concessions built on it on the ocean side also.

Not what we thought i was. Afraid to check out and other places, as people were sitting in their cars, to not break the laws. Tybee Island will NEVER make a main attraction on the east coast. TOO MONEY HUNGRY.

This was definitely a very cool experience. So much history and all the artifacts was just mind blowing and you got to climb on the top outside and you can see the ocean which was beautiful

This was a great trip through time and the development of the island. You will learn military and civilian history... showing the impacts of various storms and periods of time on the island. You get in free with a light house ticket.
