We stopped in here to enjoy a climb up the light, and got the bonus as the weather was great and we got a clear morning and low tourist traffic as well. We were able to stay up on top for as long as we wanted. The overview of the former fort next door, and the beachfront just beyond. The lighthouse grounds were very nice to tour, and the walk down to the beach afterwards was a great payoff.

While I did not get to climb the 178 steps (closed for a month while paint inside being stripped) it was a great visit my first time on Tybee.

Beautiful lighthouse with a great view. Includes a short film and small restored buildings.

A wonderful experience and a terrific view. The low admission of $8 was a treat. Put on your walking shoes it is around 170 steps to the top.

This isn't what you may think of when you think about a "museum". This is a restored lighthouse and the lighthouse keepers homes. If you enjoy history you would enjoy this place. And you've got to take all the stairs to the top of the lighthouse! 180some stairs I think they said?? There is a small fee you pay to go onto the grounds and the lighthouse and includes the battery area and fort across the road which is also pretty neat to visity. If you're a history buff, you gotta stop by!
