My dad was a Ranger in WWII and had fought along side of some of the troops who trained at Currahee. He loved the museum and loved explaining and giving stories based on the exhibits. Lots of good items to see and an actual farm house/barn the 517th boys actually slept in from Germany (I believe)

Great museum, free for AD Military. Takes about 1-2 hours, not very large, but interesting and a very friendly staff.

If you are a fan of the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers", you must make a trip to the Currahee Military Museum! We were on our way to Atlanta when we saw the sign and decided to make a little side trip. The museum is full of memorabilia from Easy company. The actual stables where the 501st lived in Aldbourne, England have been brought over and assembled in the museum. There are lots of photos, letters, and equipment to see. It was extremely moving. There's also a great little gift shop with some great souvenirs. The remaining Easy company men come to Toccoa every year in October for a reunion. The volunteers do a great job running the museum. It is definitely worth a visit!

Good info and displays on the Airborne Infantry, plus they brought a barn from Aldbourne, UK, that was used as a WWII barracks for the airborne boys and rebuilt it inside the museum. How cool is that?

Airborne History Museum had a great collection of photos and memorabilia from the training center that was located here during WWII.
