“A nice surprise”
Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

We were driving there and had no idea how big the hills were because of the trees. There's a lookout with a great view of the hills and river before you drive into the park. Beautiful place. Nice river. Good little weekend escape.

“Family and Dog Friendly Park”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

I love taking out of town guests and my dog to this amazing park. The trails have look out points for pictures and the water is clean to swim in. My three legged dog used to love to walk in the shallow areas and the water was therapeutic for him. Watch out for rapids in some areas. But the views are beautiful and the cost is minimal. Clean restrooms and plenty of picnic and grilling areas . Fishing looked pretty good too.

“Status of Park is now County operated - not a State Park”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

Story published 12/31/2012 in The Macon Telegraph: http://www.macon.com/2012/12/31/2301281/sprewell-bluff-to-be-managed-by.html
Due to budget cuts, it was changed from a State Park to a Wildlife Management Area (which remains)... but the Park at the river will now be operated by Upson County. Primitive facilities. Signs remained as of 9/25/12 that a WMA parking fee was required. County may collect now by way of a drop box like a state park.

Nice hiking trail with beautiful views along the boulder strewn river and interesting rock formations along the trail. Great place for kids; throw rocks into the water and skip flat stones until your arm is sore. Stop in Thomaston for a Piggy Park barbeque meal or at the Pool Room Cafe for a delicious burger (sloppy joe style).

Took the kids there on a hot day, played in the water. Had a picnic lunch. Great fun enjoying our great state of Georgia. Love this day park!
