Very quaint hotel. The period "feel" is definitely there. The lobby staircase is amazing. It is well maintained with large rooms that have great balcony's with comfortable rocking chairs overlooking a courtyard. Check-in was a breeze. The staff were great. A special thanks to the housekeeping staff for finding and returning my reading glasses. I cannot thank you enough. We had breakfast on site. The biscuits are too die for!!!!!!!!!!!!! As another guest points out, you are inside the park. There were no stores other than the hotel gift shop. Our visit happened to occur after school had started in the Atlanta area, so most of the attractions in the park were closed. The gift shop at the tramway closed at 4:30pm. The hotel thoughtfully provided a list of the open restaurants within the park.

Loved the location of this hotel directly across the street (in the park) from where the laser light show takes place. This place was spacious, well kept, landscaping was beautiful at the pool/courtyard. I think we were in the wheelchair accessible room on the 2nd floor - it was huge and had a sleeper sofa. One sad thing was that there was a problem with the water temperature (hot at night, cold in the morning). We didn't have time to wait for it to be dealt with in the morning, but the staff seemed to think that it could've been handled quickly. The wifi wasn't free so that was a bummer, but I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: ask for wheelchair accessable room on 2nd floor - lots of space

We had a great time at Stone Mountain Inn. My only warning would be there is no food available (other than a few snacks) in the evenings. We spent a ton of money on snacks in the tiny gift shop. Other than that, we had a great time! Our king bed room was huge! The rooms are a little outdated, but very comfy!

Room Tip: The rooms are a little outdated, but comfy!

We had a wonderful surprise when entering the lobby. It was like walking into an old movie's hotel. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Jim, the desk clerk was so helpful in telling us about the grounds and where to go at what times. His assistant, a woman with a heavy European accent was also helpful in their small gift shop. We were equally surprised at the spacious rooms and actually two vanities in the bathroom. The pool was clean and nestled within the towering trees. Birds and squirrels bravely ran up to our patio. The patios were equipped with two comfortable chairs and a small table.
The price of the room was again another surprise. Being in a resort type atmosphere we expected the rates to be higher. We visited the top of the mountain via the skylift and decided to stay another night. The room had two double (queen) beds and a sleeper sofa and still had room enough to walk around. VERY spacious rooms.
Our only problem with this experience was the lack of eating places in the park. Though we didn't mind the short trip into the town of Stone Mountain, it would have been nice to have a restaurant or two nearby.
We will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: If all the rooms were as ours, there is no problem getting a nice clean, spacious room.

We went to the Inn at Stone Mountain Inn it was nice motel very dated but comfortable. When we went to the Lobby at check inn there was a particular smell thou the lobby was lovely , the room was spacious and comfortable. We had a nice breakfast but alittle pricey for the location but also the location is wonderful. The staff was nice but not like a nicer hotels like Hilton or reg Marriott Hotel and l hope that since Marriott has taken over it will keep the comfort but increase the style thou Dated still a wonderful stay

We arrived at Stone Mountain Inn at 1pm after 8 long hours in the car. We figured we'd try to check in early, because we usually are able to. After coming in and exchanging with the clerk, she informed me no rooms were ready and that check in time was 4 pm. They were fully booked so I couldn't get an early room. As I walked back to the car to tell my family I noticed the tumbleweeds rolling by in their "fully booked" hotel parking lot. I figured we would change inside and go have some fun and come back. We changed in the lobby restrooms that were so "graciously" provided (a grunt and a pointed finger) and noticed another family checking in and receiving room keys?!! My wife convinced me to keep quiet and go. When we got back, we got our key, the clerk said they had plenty of vacancy and that we could have checked in earlier. If we did not know it was a Marriott hotel before we booked, I would never have know from the service. However the room was huge, two queen beds and a sofa bed with two armchairs and plenty of room. Two of the ice machines were broken so that was annoying as well but other than the poor employees, we would try again.

Pleasantly surprised are my words to describe this place. I came by it while researching for a family vacation I am planning for August 2013. The size of the rooms are huge, the temperature of the rooms is perfect, nothing beats the location, it s a little outdated but that adds to the aura of"civil war" era and national park. I was not Alberto eat at the restaurant because it was closed but there was a location close by with a nice view of the lake. Oh, and the price was simply perfect.

Room Tip: Lower level
