If you don't get goosebumps at Lee Greenwood's "proud to be an american" something is wrong. The lasershow is a MUST SEE if you are in the Atlanta area...

The laser show is done well, but short after a long day of hiking up the mountain and strolling through the amusement park end of this venue. Parking is always aplenty and the various food options are good, but the one's closest to the light show area close too early.

The laser show is pretty neat the first time you see it, but it would be nice if they changed it up from year to year. Go early and take a blanket to sit on. I still get chills when they play the battle hymn of the republic and the carvings on the mountain start to gallop via laser. Sorta cool!

Our family had a wonderful time at Stone Mountain. The laser show was fabulous and the family environment across the lawn was such a treat to watch. We paid a $10 parking fee and enjoyed the show for free. By the end, even the teenagers had tears in their eyes from the moving tribute to our country. Stone Mountain will forever be a stop on our road trips to Georgia.

Pay only the $10 per vehicle park admission. Enjoy the civil war museums for a bit (more adults oriented), take an easy hike to the top of the 'mountain' (definitely no more than a hill), and park your picnic blanket on the large green to enjoy the evening show.

If you want to spend the day with the kids, the adventure pass is the way to go. The Sky Hike is great, and the new Geyser Towers looks cool. I think the price is a little steep, personally.
