“Retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

I attended a retreat here on Nov.9th-11th,2012. The resort is amazing. It's location in Stone Mountain Park is an area of seclusion, If you want a little Get A Way, this is the place to be.
I had a room with a lake view from my balcony (sweet) . The staff was very helpful and friendly.
For you Starbucks fan, there is a Starbucks in the lobby. The views from the hall ways over
looks the courtyards were you will see a large cheese game, whirlpool (that is heated) , pool and
a fire pit. The fire pit at night is lovely to look at , it adds a little touch of romance to the courtyard
at night. I enjoyed my nice comfortable bed. In the bathroom you will find Bath N Body Works
Aromatherapy Orange Ginger energizing items. :)
My meals at The Waterside restaurant was great.
Looking forward to my next visit.

We landed a groupon deal for the spa at Evergreen and were SO excited to get the facial and hot stone or pedi and hot stone massage for such a great price. Booking was a breeze and they seemed so accommodating. HOWEVER, the ONLY reason I give this review no less than 2 stars is the price we paid via groupon. We most definitely feel that we were treated like second class/groupon customers. 30 minutes before our appointment (mind you, you're asked to show up 15 minutes prior to the appointment) we get phoned to be told "We're running 30 minutes behind, can you just show up 30 minutes later?" We stated we were already minutes out so no, we'll just wait. It did not appear that there were customers being seen prior to us, but rather that one of the service providers was running late; we can't verify the reason for the delay though, that's only an opinion. When we booked we made it abundantly clear, REPEATEDLY, via email that we wanted her facial and his pedi to be done simultaneously THEN have the massage. The lady that booked us "forgot" this detail when we changed our appointment about two weeks out so we were rudely handled and left with no choice but to have our appointment done in the opposite order we requested. Our massages were great. He was happy with his pedi, but her facial leveled out at mediocre when the SPA MANAGER/esthetician concluded by leaving several large chunks of the pumpkin mask on her face and calling it done. She left A to clean up and A was forced to find another esthetician to provide a rag to scrub off the chunks of mask left on even after cleansing and moisturizing. Because the services ended at different times J paid and went to have a drink while waiting. A handled the tipping and barely discovered J's estheticians were already tipped, per the manager's admittance that she had already been tipped for the massage and A need not tip. The same young lady that "forgot" the booking requests was content to let J's pedi esthetician take a double tip until A requested the 2nd tip back. Overall, we would NEVER recommend anyone spending their money with this spa, even if it was with groupon/at a discount. The ladies do NOT have good business practice together.

I attended a conference here a few weeks ago. The place was amazing. Rooms were above par even for Marriott. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The fact that there was a Starbucks in the lobby was a wonderful surprise. The views from the rooms were so serene and peaceful. Great job! I will return for pleasure!!!

If we didn't live so far away, we'd stay here every year to escape the daily hustle & bustle of life.

Everyone we encountered were friendly, helpful, & hospitable.

We ate at the breakfast buffet every morning. Many selections - bacon, sausage, fresh waffles (with strawberries & whip cream), omelette bar, fresh fruits, potatoes, cheese, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, grits, eggs. There were so any choices that we can't remember them all.

The location is beautiful and peaceful. We took a leisurely walk through the resort inside & out and had a wonderful time just being away from the normal hectic routine of life. It was also very convenient to get to all the attractions. Parking was plentiful.

The room was clean & comfortable. Being outside on th balcony was a treat especially with the big trees & lake view.

Took off a star because the shower head & controls were outdated. The exercise equipment rusty & on older side. The indoor swimming pool was cloudy from having so many visitors. We didn't use the outdoor pool.

If we are ever back in Atanta, we would definitely take a few days to stay at Marriott evergreen again.

This is one of the best Marriott's I have ever stayed at. My wife and I were there for a single night in late October; the hotel and grounds were absolutely beautiful. It is situated on the grounds of Stone Mountain State Park. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our 4th floor. The hotel is The leaves were changing color, which made it even more spectacular. There have heated outdoor and indoor pools, outdoor gas fire pits with chairs, and a huge, beautiful deck on the back. Staff were very helpful and friendly; there is free valet parking and I wasn't charged for WiFi because I have silver status (usually you must have at least Gold to get free WiFi). Only complaint is that the front desk was a little slow, it seemed like they needed more people. I will definitely stay there again if ever in the area.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the lake, on a high floor (level 4 or 5)

This was our third stay here for a ladies conference. The accommodations are perfect and the staff was great. We dined at the buffet and the food was good and plentiful. Everthing seemed to be attended to as needed.

While searching for a hotel near Stone Mountain on the Web we could afford we found Marriott on there for 139.00 per night. When we got to the hotel they charged us 190.00 per night. That was the 1st thing that happened, then while checking in the woman at check in was so rude We could not believe the way she was talking to us. We found out only the next morning that if we had went and purchase a ticket at Stone Mountain Park the one where you can go to other parks and get 50% of tickets that we could have stayed there for 1/2 the price. she should have told us that. After dealing with the rude lady we then went to our room where the TV was very fuzzy on most channels, Then we had to open the door to the outside because the room was so HOT in it. It would get hot then it go to freezing cold. They seriously have some major problems with this Beautiful place. We will never ever be back to this hotel and will be sure to let everyone we know that while the hotel is very beautiful and clean. The staff is very rude and unwilling to help.

Room Tip: Call ahead or book ahead and if you plan on going to the park ask the park about saving at Marriott.
