Weather was terrible but the view from our lakeside room was very nice. Sadly, no hiking. The hotel was nice, lobby was warm and inviting. Bed was very comfortable. We ended up with a two double bed room when had requested a king or queen room. I am sure most of the rooms are double because it seems to be a huge family place. It was literally swarming with kids. Not ideal for a romantic getaway but apparently great for families. Overall a nice place but way too many kids for my taste. The only complaint I have is that the kitchen seemed to be very disorganized. We dined in the sports bar instead of the buffet. The staff were telling people that a wait for a table was 45-60 min even though tables were available. As we were sitting at the bar (in order to avoid the wait) we overhead our bartender asking another wait staff why the hostess was telling people that there would be a wait when several tables were open. She replied that the kitchen was putting out food so slowly that the patrons were waiting extemely long times for their meals. My husbands food was not good (linguine carbonara) but my salmon was great. The staff did not service the areas around the pool tables. It remained dirty the entire hour we played pool. I think the kitchen needs some help but overall the place was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Did not attend the buffet so no comment there.

Was unfortunate to only be able to stay one night, but loved every second of it. Beautiful rooms and views, great staff, decent food, and nice meeting/conference rooms. Would love to go back and have a family vacation there, to enjoy all that the hotel has to offer as well as Stone Mountain.

Picturesque view from our room overlooking the lake. Excellent deal from marriott for the room with breakfast and stone mountain tickets thrown in. Staff very helpful and the buffet highly recommended - the chefs will cook things on the fly for you in you want. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately, the experience with the on-site dining options negatively impacted my impression of the property. Pretty, mountain like lobby. Standard clean room. Nice location in a lush setting. Satisfactory service. But then there was the "sports style restaurant and bar." Have not had an experience like that at a hotel EVER. Complete chaos. The facility was waaaay understaffed both in table service and bar service. The employees were doing the best they could to manage the influx of customers but there simply was not enough of them. Major management problem going on. Could go on and on but I won't. The next morning breakfast's experience was better but again just ok. The $17 pp buffet seemed overpriced for the available options.

Since I am in the hotel industry, I rarely write reviews. I stayed here for 2 nights with my 12 year old son. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! I look through eyes that even road warriors don't look through. Everything was very clean, and the service was spot on! I look forward to staying here again.

I stay at this hotel once a year for an annual conference. It is always in January, so I haven't done much outdoors except to play golf (go with Stonemont for a challenge, Lakemont for the views) and do some jogging. Despite the cold winter months, this is a fabulous property. Great views of the lake from most rooms, great views of Stone Mountain from the restuarant. Rooms are typical Marriott -- nicely appointed, clean, modern, good beds and bedding. The Friday night seafood buffett is worth every dime. Love drinking a coffee in the lobby by the great fireplace or on the porch. Great property for conferences/business meetings. Convenient to all Stone Mountain has to offer.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view.

We stayed at this resort for a long weekend for our daughter to attend a dance competiton. The room was very comfortable with a view to the pool and lake. You do not need to pay the park entrance fee if you tell them you are staying at this hotel. Even though the service was overall very good I would not recommend the restaurant in the hotel which serves an average type of buffet dinner. Decatur is a few minutes away with great dining options. Aside from that I would definitely recommend this hotel.
