Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort
Ranked #3 of 11 Hotels in Stone Mountain
GreenLeadersSilver level
Reviewed May 29, 2011

The Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort is located in Stone Mountain Park, away from the noisy tourist area and surrounded by natural beauty. It has a terrific spa, an inviting pool, an adequate restaurant (there are better choices in nearby Decatur), and many nearby attractions in the Park itself. It is clean and efficiently serviced, though not particularly elegant. You will likely encounter large conferences, wedding parties and other special events because of the nature of the facility. If you visiting the Park for recreation or a business meeting, Evergreen is the best place to stay. It is a great base for hiking, biking, golfing, and exploring. However, if you have business in downtown Atlanta, the commute would be inconvenient.

Room Tip: get a room with a balcony overlooking the lake

My husband and I stayed at the Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort in Stone Mountain Park, GA in May. We were there for two nights and had a very relaxing time with a room on the top floor overlooking the lake. I have stayed at this Marriott before and the hotel never disappoints. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are so quiet and have a feeling of privacy. Also, the room service is quick and good. The gentleman delivering the food is so nice and next time I'm there, I'll get his name so I can write management. On future trips to the Atlanta area, I will definitely stay at this Marriott.

If you want to stay in Stone Mountain park, we definitely recommend this hotel over the Stone Mountain Inn. Much newer, cleaner and better rooms. We were given a nice room overlooking the lake. Great front desk service by Sarah. The one drawback was the limited restaurant options. One restaurant, and it is only a buffet - or go to the sports bar. One of the worst experiences we have had with hotel restaurant options. There is a beautiful lake next to the hotel, and the park surrounds it. 5-10 minute drive to park center. Try the park 6 mile nature trail - it was great!

We loved our stay at the Evergreen Resort and will definitely be back again in the future.

We have previously stayed at the Stone Mountain Inn and this resort blew it away! We all loved the rooms and the beds were very comfortable. The linens were really nice, super soft and there were lots of pillows. The TV was nice, large screen, but the selection of channels is pretty limited. Our room had a view of the lake and a balcony but we didn't use it because it was really buggy because of the view I guess. We didn't have an issue with bugs in the pool courtyard at all.

We really loved the pool area, there are outdoor fire pits and the pool was nice and warm. The hot tub is very large and it was a great temperature, although you do have to keep turning the bubbles on because they're on a timer. They also play music out there and it's really well landscaped with fun features like giant chess and checkers set. The whole courtyard was very relaxing.

We all really loved this hotel.

I read through some of the other reviews and had to go back and make sure I was reading about the same hotel we just checked out of this morning. This was our second stay at the Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort, and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the place. The whole hotel has recently been redecorated. Our room was spotless and beautiful. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in!
The breakfast buffet was delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel staff, from the front desk to the waiters/waitresses, to the bellman ALL went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating.
Oh, yes there is the issue of the WiFi not being free in the rooms and that is an aggravation, but I've found that to be the case with every nice hotel we've stayed in lately. They all charge extra for internet services these days. We have our own WiFi connection so it doesn't pose a problem for us. Even if it did, for us the internet connection wasn't a deal-breaker. Overall, the Evergreen Mariott Conference Resort met or exceeded all our expectations.

Spent Saturday night here and had a nice time. Good location within Stone Mountain park, so enjoyed the trails and went to the laser show. Rooms are comfortable, everything in the hotel was clean and pretty, and the firepits by pool are great to sit by at night.

On the spur of the moment, my family decided to vacation at Stone Mountain Park. We got there around 6pm, were treated very courteously by the entire staff, and even got a free upgrade because of the low volume at that time. The rooms were very nice, the bedding fabulous, and the balcony was the most relaxing spot! The pools were great and the kids enjoyed the giant checker game. The food is rather too expensive for what it is, but other than that, it was a wonderful, relaxing stay. Oh, the internet is free only if you use it in the lobby, there is a charge to use it in your room. The bathroom was the only downside. It was a typical hotel bathroom, not lots of room, but it was clean.
