Beautiful park with lots of things to do. We stayed two nights. The campground was very nice, clean and in a natural setting around a large lake. Most of the sites are wooded & many back up to the lake. Most sites have water & electric. Park fills up so reservations are highly recommended. They have a laser show on Saturday nights which is included in the entrance fee which is ok. It does however give you something to do in the evening. Bring lounge chairs or a blanket as there us no seating provided for the laser show. Transportation is provided via shuttle. The campground is clean and facilities ate great. There's all kinds of events and festivals going on every weekend. Check their website for events. We hiked the mountain. The hike up was about 45 minutes and pretty easy but steep. Great 360 degrees views on the top of the mountain. You can also take a sky tramp up and then hike down.

We stayed here the last weekend in September which was also the date of the Miller Lite Chilli Cookoff. The campground was packed but the bathrooms still stayed clean and well stocked. We even washed a load of clothes and the facilities were outstanding. Our site was in the loop farthest away from the office which was quiet with roomy sites. Some of the other loops had sites very close together with steep roads. As another reviewer stated some sites are small and some are not level. Since we will definately return we marked our favorite sites on our map and will try to get these next time. The laser show is a must see and as far as cost goes...you can spend as much or as little as you want around the park. This is a very fun campground close to the city. Very pretty and affordable getaway.

We stayed at Stone Mountain and loved it. We were the farthest away from the main entrance with quiet lake and woods. The bathrooms were clean and everyone in the area helpful. You must see the laser show on Saturday night. It was busy at first with spring break but then it quieted down to no one around. Easy access to all areas of northern GA and Atlanta.Highly recommend staying here.

Me and my family camped there last week, great staff, very friendly and helpful, very nice campground but definitely be careful what site you get, we have a 31ft camper and a 26ft truck and could not park both of them in there without parking the truck sideways and up against the tree. We were on #366 and this site had power problems, our power kept going on and off til they brought us an adapter(way to hot for that), our picnic table was on the hill in the woods, but they do have some very nice spots just wasn't told that on the phone.

Stress free, staff awsome, absolutely helpful, from the reservation desk to the cleaning persons. Cleanest shower and public restrooms I have ever been. At least every 30 min a small truck passed and collected garbage bags from sites, no mess around. Happy campers, clean pool, Sunday service with coffee, hot cocoa and donuts FREE!, convenient store right in site full equipped. My kids enjoyed, we stayed at the yellow zones and we truly enjoyed. Weather was great and that helped too, not too hot was not cold at all, and not rainy either. Security 24 hours. We love it and want to stay longer!!!
