“We loved snow mountain!”
Reviewed February 3, 2010

We are in our 20's and 30's and went for a visit to snow mountain. We had a great time. We had the first time slot 9 A.M. and i would highly recommend this as there tends to be little line for this slot. We were able to get about 7 slides down the lanes all within one hour and never finished our second hour because those 7 wore us out. The lanes go very fast, the line moves fast, and the staff is a little nicer in the morning. We came back a few hours later and lines had tripled in length!!!! Go in the morning! As for the rest of the activiities, they were dead! Nothing to do at Stone Mountain in the winter but the snow tubing! If we loved it i'm sure kids will and all the kids and parents we saw were all having a good time.

“Snow Mountain Attraction-Kids liked it!”
Reviewed January 18, 2010

Yes, its very expensive...Yes the tubing lines are long, BUT my 5 year old and 7 year old ..who had never seen snow LOVED IT. They actually loved the snow zone the best..making the snow men, igloos etc. As an adult...dont bother..but if you are doing for the KIDS...go for it. We are from Florida and this was their first experience with it.
We had tubing times from 10am till 12pm. Probably only tubed down 6 times. IT was alot of work pulling those three tubes since the kids were TO TIRED to do it. Plus they really hated the long lines at the top to tube down.
We stayed till almost 4pm..just playing in the snow...having smores..eating lunch..making snowmen etc. One person posted that the snow machine pelted them, YES, if you were in its way, it hurt, but just go to another section and you were fine...
ALL and ALL my kids loved this first experience with snow..it made it worthwith for me, to see their enjoyment. EMAIL me if you have any questions.
Also we stayed at Marriott Evergreen Resort in Stone Mt park. Nice..but priceline it..DONT pay their high retail price...they wanted 179.night..we got it for 80/night.

“Avoid "Snow Mountain"”
Reviewed January 15, 2010

Like other reviewers of "Snow Mountain" (tubing and snow area available December through February at Stone Mountain), our experience was horrible. Our younger son was turned away after the employee insisted he was 1/8th inch too short. Two other supervisors came over to concur that if you pressed his hair down he was just under their tape line and that he would be a “safety risk”. Meanwhile, the snow cannon they use is pelting chunks of ice in your eyes and kids are crying and running out of its path. Most of the tube runs are either closed or sprouting serious bare spots of gravel. And one of the employees was too busy chatting with another and stomped on my hand while I was sitting in the tube, so now have a broken finger bone. I think that whole place is a safety risk! (although Stone Mountain said they would pay for xrays and treatment for my hand, which was nice).

Thought we were being too critical until I overheard other parents with similar complaints and read other reviews after our visit about the long lines and low value. Stay clear of Snow Mountain until they figure out what they are doing, maybe in 2011.

Skip Miss Katie's Restaurant too - used to be our favorite place to eat, but has turned into a low value, low quality restaurant that's sure to give you intestinal problems the next day. Wouldn't eat there for free.

“Nice Ride to the Top and Walk Back Down”
Reviewed January 9, 2010

(See my other review on the Xmas Laser Show at Stone Mountain)

I had been here a few times growing up. Second time for my wife and daughter. Still impressive. The ride to the top is panoramic. It's cold and blustery at the top of the mountain so bundle up (at least in Winter).

We walked down the side, which was fun and not really difficult. Bad news is when you reach the bottom you end up about 1 mile from the entrance to the Tram (where presumably your car is if you took the Tram up). It can be slippery show wear good shoes. The terrain is not too tough and clearly marked. If we do this again, we'd walk UP and now back down. That would actually be easier.

“Great mountain, tacky park”
Reviewed November 12, 2009

The hike to the top of the mountain is very nice and a great activity for the whole family. Our 5 y/o had no problem hiking to the top and back. It's fun walking on the rock. The view is spectacular. If they had only left the mountain alone and not put in all those tacky attractions, cable cars and god knows what else, it would have been all the better.
