“Snow Mountain - OK but not what was expected”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

We had heard about Snow Mountain and several friends have had a good time there. Tickets are a bit expensive, but that's also what you expect for a theme park - pay a large price and end up waiting in line for a while. The tubing was fantastic, but I would recommend going earlier so the lines are shorter. The thing that disappointed us was the snowball area. It was about 2 feet square. We were there with 5 children and they were throwing a couple of snowballs at each other - nothing too destructive. The attendant told us we were allowed to throw snowballs other than in the designated area - a bit difficult to believe when the picture on the website shows a kid with a snowball. Essentially it boiled down to safety, which I do understand given the nature of the snow but these rules weren't posted. However, at some point she was so upset she tried to get us kicked out of the area and went to her manager for support for her position. The manager didn't support her so she wasn't allowed to kick us out, but it spoiled the day. They were just kids being kids, not affecting any other parties and were under constant adult supervision.

“Beautiful Day at Stone Mountain”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

Stone Mountain is an incredibly beautiful place. We visited for the day, hiked up the mountain with friends, and enjoyed the amazing view of the Atlanta skyline. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the trails!

“Christmas lights & ATL skyline”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

The christmas lights for the "Stone Mountain Christmas" were awesome. The "old world" set didnt have an authentic feeling to it, it very clearly looked like a themepark. The glass making demo was very interesting. It is good for a family + kids outing because of mini golf (level - easy), train ride, and snow tubing. You can use the restroom only if you have paid to look around which sounded weird, silly. The hike up the stone mountain was very good, the whole track is marked with a yellow paint, and there are railings at a tough spot, so all in all its very safe. The view from top, esp. sunset is worth the hike!

“Beautiful park, TONS to do for any tastes, close to Atlanta.”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

If you're visiting Atlanta, take the time and spend the $10 to visit this large, unique park. I live locally and visit this park several times a year. There are a variety of trails that circumvent and climb this beautiful granite monolith. For no extra charge you can visit nature gardens, the grist mill with a water wheel, view two different lakes, and, during warm months, watch a spectacular laser show after sunset. For a small fee you can ride the sky bucket to the top of the mountain, take a train around the mountain, or ferry around the lake. For larger fees, there are a rainbow of activities ranging from waterslide parks, snow sledding, camping, and two nice golf courses. This park offers fun for all peoples, group sizes, and itineraries.
