Owner description: A huge carving of three Confederate heroes, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis, on the face of the mountain.

Stone Mountain is the largest hunk of granite above ground, and the carving of the Confederate generals is massive and impressive. You pass right by it on the funicular going to the top of the mountain. From there you get amazing views of Ga and atlanta

We had a great time learning about the creation and process of making this monumental carving. Look forward to seeing it again on our next vacation

The park is great for a sightseeing and hiking and just to lay around and do nothing. There is so much to do, one day visit is just not enough to get it all in. My suggestion is to have at less two days to visit.

This sculpture is the highlight of Stone Mountain Park. It is fascinating to see the documentary of how the carving was done and to see the Civil War Museum.

Love the history of the carving at the little museum at the top of the mountain. A definite must for those interested in local history.
