Similar to Vandy's BBQ, but with a buffet. Bring an appetite

“Only open for lunch and...”
Reviewed January 6, 2008

Only open for lunch and the dinning area is kinda small and parking is very limited so expect a crowd. Food is very good so long as you get there when there is some left.

“exceptional bbq”
Reviewed April 14, 2007

outstanding slow pit cooked bbq tender and moist served with a a flavorfull sauce that compliments rather than hides. astonishing selection of sides unusally not found in the likes of a shack like this all homade by soimeone's grandmother. lee harvey oswald would never had been in dallas that day in '63 had he lingered here long enough to have the nanner pudding. after the fried chicken and bbq a dose of nanner pudding would have put him in the hammock where you'd likely still find him waiting on the doors to re open the next day for more. it's THAT good.

“Boyd's Buffet More than BBQ”
Reviewed July 23, 2006

We hate chain restaurants. Heading home from St. Simons we realized we couldn't make our favorite stop (Country Buffet in Sandersville) in time for lunch so headed for Statesboro, where we'd had a decent experience a few years previous. Drat! It was out of business. My husband spotted a BBQ sign down the road and we decided that would have to do, though we'd had 'cue the day before. What a lucky find, even better than our original destination. All we could eat from a serve-yourself buffet of crispy fried chicken, pulled pork, meat loaf, chicken and dumplings and many vegetables including a mighty fine squash casserole. Sweet iced tea and banana pudding rounded out a meal that salvaged our afternoon.
