Marriott is a great hotel chain, however this hotel has some hidden issues. The rooms appear very clean, however I saw palmetto bugs (large roaches) twice in the room, and they were also visible walking to the car in the parking lot. The coffee pot inside the room was nasty (very dirty), the phone in the room did not work (rm 238). With poor options in the area it was disappointing that Springhill had lowered its standards.More

Well....
I liked the stay here for over a week. The staff was very kind and the housekeeping would leave new towels for me when I didn't want housekeeping that day. Now just to be open to other reviewers as I would want folks to tell me that I did see a roach in the closet. I thought it was dead and went to get some toilet paper to pick it up and it was gone. The air conditioner didn't really work, so I just didn't move much in the room. I did see them spraying for bugs outside. I have been home for two weeks now and I did not bring any bugs home. They wouldn't like the cold Washington state rain anyway. :)

Disappointed
Roaches in room. Ran over my feet as I was getting out of bed. Threshold to bath broken. Manager Phil unconcerned and acted as if these problems had occurred before. Offered no response except to ask where I was from.

Nice and Clean!
This was a great value. The hotel is in a safe part of town and convenient. Our room was spacious very clean and beds were comfortable. The hot breakfast was included and it offered plenty of good food options. Have stayed here several times and will again.

July visit
Very clean and friendly service. The breakfast was ok, wish there was more fresher foods but this is a hotel. My son just started at GSU and we will be using this again when we go to visit him. Very convenient to the school.

Good, Clean Hotel at a Great Location
As I've found with other Spring Hill Suites, this was a very nice, well-appointed, comfortable, and clean hotel.
What impresses me about Spring Hill Suites (especially those built in recent years), is the room appointments.
There's a small "living room" with a cabinet containing a microwave oven and small refrigerator (there's also some kitchen utensils). It has a desk and couch as well.
There's a very nice high-definition television (with a good variety of HD cannels) that can be swiveled to point towards the bedroom and living room (very nice design).
The bathroom is basically two-room: sink and toilet/shower rooms. The shower is a walk-in vs. a tub that is also a shower (another nice feature).
The bed is very comfortable, all the furniture is also nice.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast provided (free) was very good with a fairly diverse menu.
There is a decent workout room, with an outside pool.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in the Statesboro, Georgia area!
