We were very impressed with our stay at Baymont. We'd never stayed in one before. The hotel was very clean, and well maintained, and the front desk people were very friendly & helpful in recommending restaurants to us, and giving us directions. (40 East Grille was terrific, as was Isabelle's Restaurant). Our room was large, clean, and very well appointed. Nice. Loved the big screen tv, and the jacuzzi jet tub in the bathroom was really cool. We didn't have any problems at all with our stay. It was very enjoyable. The complimentary bkfst was very good as well.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to others. We also thought the hotel was in a very convenient location to the downtown area (which we loved! Very charming), and the Southern Georgia Univ campus, which was where we had to go.

Room seemed great upon arrival. TV was new and the beds seemed clean upon initial inspection. However, around 1am while laying in bed watching a movie, a little bedbug came crawling across the comforter toward us. Staff was apologetic and paid for us to do our laundry, but were unable to give us another room. They did comp the room though. We found out the next morning that others in our party staying on a different floor also found bedbugs in their room. Beware!! While staff was helpful and the place seems nice on the outside, there are bedbugs waiting to bite you!

Room 322!!! Bed and mattress seemed fine upon routine inspection. But box spring skirt had a palm sized blood stain and little black specks on corner. When looked closer black specks were bed bug carcasses and live bed bugs were crawling among them!!

Caught one in cardboard cup and plastic bagged it and took it to the front desk. Told the woman at the front desk we needed a new room and presented her with the creepy crawly! She gave us a new room and absolutely no apology whatsoever. She even

asked us twice what was in the cup- like she didnt believe me!

I've been on the road for 8 weeks and Ive unfortunately stayed in places that have been less than par. And unfortunately ive had a run in with bed bugs and found that I am severely allergic to their venom.

The insincerity of the clerk astounded me! And if I could stay at another hotel I would have! Unfortunately, that isn't an option.
In reading, this you have the option- STAY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

WHY do hotels insist on using this weapons-grade perfume carpet cleaning junk? Closes up my nose right away...and I've had a cold for a week!!! Rooms are okay, the computer terminal has crumbs all over it, but I won't use that anyway. HUGE HDTV / DVD combo. Seems to be about halfway through a refurb...hoping that once it's done, it hides the flaws now glaringly evident. Elevator floors horrific, most fabric surfaces in the (fairly new looking) room furnishings have stains. Bed feels comfortable, but in a room with so many cosmetic flaws I still checked for bugs. Found none. I fear many of the refurb touches will be abused by the clientele who clearly seem to be riding this horse a lot harder than she's prepared to run.
