We needed a place to stay and this was the only place available in the entire Statesboro area. At the booking price of $95 (compared to around $65-75 a night everywhere else) we assumed - wrongly - that it was a higher end hotel. We could not have been more wrong. The room smelled musty the entire time, the carpet and furniture was stained and dirty. The heating/cooling unit had no cover and was smashed and filled with visible dirt; it was noisy and produced the most annoying variety of noises throughout the night. The pillows were flimsy and provided no support. The bathroom was tiny and the toilet seat was broken. The bathtub/shower was dirty and stained around the edges and just not right. Overall We just wanted a place to sleep (which was difficult) and to just get the heck out. The lobby ceiling was made up of different tiles and stained from leaks. The elevators smelled and that carpet in each was stained; the buttons didn't light up. The staff however was very pleasant, but spent most of their unoccupied time standing at the entrance smoking. The breakfast was fine as well - but everything else just made things feel bad. Again we just wanted to get out. We spent the next few nights and the Days Inn - which is a part of the same hotel group - and had a very pleasant and reasonable priced stay. The toilet in the lobby was filthy and the toilet tank was cracked and missing half the tank cover - like a nasty gas station rest room. What a sham.

Room Tip: Just don't stay here is the best tip that we can provide.

Let me say right off, the staff was great. They were very helpful with any request and very pleasant with check in, movie rental, check out, etc. They do have free DVD rental from the lobby - nice touch.

Also the room was huge. Bathroom was abnormally small, the room was huge.

It is all lost when faced with the state of the grounds. Anything I say would sound like an exaggeration, so I'm just uploading the pictures.

Staff very helpful with any needs. As with most other hotels, the in room coffee maker is a must. I'd like to see more than 1 serving of regular coffee offered in each room/

A very dissapointing stay. Initially this was going to be 2 nights stay. After 1 night i checked out. The outside of the hotel was fine & attractive. Inside my room was a bad experience. The faucet moved sideways on the counter top when you turn on the water.
The safety rail in the shower was only held up by 1 bolt of the 4 that were supposed to be bolted down. The overall condition was "very used" from the fixtures in the room to the shabby towels & tired bed sheets & pillows. Please do check out room 310 to varify my comments. I'm surprised they didn't ask why I was leaving early or if my stay was acceptable. So much for customer service.

Our son recently enrolled in Georgia Southern in Statesboro. We go to visit him every couple of months. We happened up on the Baymont and are so glad we did. From the manager to the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff, they have all done an exceptional job to keep up coming back. The manager has worked with us on rates which has so helped. Everyone is so friendly and we will continue to come. I never fill out these surveys, but I felt that they all deserved a pat on the back. Thanks.
