“False charges”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

Beware of false charges added on if you use a credit card. They charged me an extra $100.00 for a smoking fee, the problem is we dont smoke and they refused to remove the charge. Manager said he found cigarette butts in the trash can. They waited until we had left town to charge us. Now if I was a smoker, smoking in a non smoking room dont you think I would have enough brains not to put the butts in the trash can. The hotel was just about empty, is this there way to stay afloat in this bad economy. The place was noisey and the view was at an empty lot. I will never stay there again, and the bed was like a rock.

We love staying at this hotel when we go to Statesboro for Equestrian events. Always clean, friendly staff and convenient to everything. Would be nice if they offered some type of free breakfast like other holiday inns.

My son and I stayed here in December while attending a function at Georgia Southern University. It was a very pleasant experience. The hotel looks new. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. It is conveniently located to the University and close to restaurants. A little pricey though depending on when you stay. I would stay here again.

Clean and new. Nice staff. Mediocre breakfast, no variety, not as creative as free breakfast at other hotel chains. Close to newer restaurants and shopping. Restaraunt and bar in hotel. Newer construction, not too soundproof. Seems pricey for the area.

Our baseball team stayed at this location. The hotel was very neat and well maintained. They give you a choice between soft and firms pillows. The rooms were always well cleaned and most of the staff were very friendly. The restaurant (emma's) has excellent food and staff.... The only con was that the Hot tub was not working all week....

Room Tip: ice and laundry facilities are located on separate floors...

Upon my stay at this hotel I was greeted by a friendly front desk clerk. The hotel had a pleasant lobby and the floor plan was nice and convenient. The rooms were clean and refreshing. The queen beds were comfortable. The pillows were a little too soft for me but my daughter loved them. I had a issue with only making one cup of coffee at a time, wish it had been a larger coffee pot. The convenience of a microwave and refrigerator was great. Liked having water in the room daily. The location is great , next to a Chilli's and across the street from other restaurants and stores. The breakfast buffet had a variety so that was a plus. The customer service in the restaurant gets an A+! Overall great place to stay while visiting family, will stay again.

My wife and I visit family in Statesboro frequently and the Holiday Inn is an unusually beautiful property with a wonderful restaurant, Emma's. Emma Kelley was a Statesboro resident who was a pianist of note. She was in the movie, "Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil", and it is most fitting that Statesboro has also remembered her by naming their principal live theatre for her. The food at Emma's is most unusual for a hotel. The chef utilizes coastal and area fresh foods into culinary delights and the flavors blend superbly. Statesboro is in a "dry" county, but the bar at Emma's is replete for imbibers. The beds are most comfortable and the rooms are quiet and clean with comfortable furnishings. Wi-Fi connection is complimentary, as is a daily newspaper. Courtesy abounds throughout the hotel and check-in check-out procedures are a zip. The staff has an unusual ability to remember us from former visits and greet us by name.

Room Tip: Ice machines are located only on the second and fourth floors. Rooms at either end of the hallways...
