“OK, but nothing spectacular”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Limited menu. Food was very good, but pricey. The fried mushroom appetizer was overcooked and bland- and the sauce with it tasted like mayonnaise with a little seasoning. The trout was very good, but not enough sauce. The burger and the BBQ sandwich and the roasted chicken were also very good. Good food, but nothing spectacular. Oh...and this is a partnership with Gary's Bistro , which was not all that great. (We went once and never went back to Gary's). Just wish Urban Flats had not closed in this space. We'll probably give it another chance, but we'd probably prefer to spend the amount of $$$ that we spent there at Bonefish Grill in the same shopping center.

“Limited Menu”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

Visited The Georgia Pine for an early lunch. When arriving, we were immediately greeted and seated. The menu is limited and a little on the pricier side for lunch. However, we ordered the special, which was grilled trout over rice with mixed vegetables. One in our party ordered the burger. The trout was very good and the vegetables were seasoned very well. The mixed vegetables included squash, tomatoes and mushrooms. In addition, I had the grilled okra and onions, which were delicious. Our server was very attentive.

“Excellent food and drinks!”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Georgia Pine uses local foods. I had the chicken with garlic and it was moist and delicious, but the side of grilled okra and onions was not generous. One of my dining companions had the pork sandwich with collards and bacon brussels sprouts and another had the beef rib. I tried them all and they were delicious. I do not drink beer but 2 of my dining companions are beer connoisseurs and had 3 varieties between them. They highly rated the beer. I think given the size of the sandwiches, they are the best value for the money. The menu also included some out of the ordinary selections such as rabbit. Some of the items are somewhat pricey, but given the uniqueness of the restaurant menu and ingredients, this is to be expected. This is a sister restaurant to Local Republic in Lawrenceville.
