This was our second time eating in at On the Bayou. This time we had a full dinner Groupon (shared appetizer, soups, entrees, beers and a shared dessert). We also chose an inside table. It was excellent. The service was decent (compared to our last outdoor dining experience), but bestt of all the staff is authentic. These are displaced Lousianians who love their food and heritage. They are warm, friendly and straight up honest to a "T". When we asked questions about the source of the shrimp, they explained they were frozen from Restaurant Depot because the Lafitte season is just starting and they cannot get a steady supply as of yet. That said all the food was spiced to perfection. Oh and their Key lime pie was delicious. Highly recommend. Do note the restaurant is bar style casual and not a fine dining establishment.

Come hungry, get great food cooked fresh, great staff. Did I mention come hungry? Shrimp and grits were amazing -- more than one can eat at a sitting. Jambalaya was fantastic. Fried green tomatoes were enough for three or more. The corn and crab chowder was fabulous. Yum! And the bread pudding is just divine.

This restaurant in close to home. Thought it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy a nice shrimp poboy. Overall they get A for effort. All the tables outside needed to be cleaned when we arrived. All we had to do was wait a few minutes and a table was clean with some disinfectant spray. The food took a while to come put and longer for the plates and silverware... But the chef came to our table to check on us and made sure we had all we needed. Great customer service! Shrimp poboys were excellent. Found out the place was under new management and staff? Not totally sure but they all seemed a little new and not sure about their service yet. They tried though :).

Had read of this place in the AJC food writer's review. Then saw it in ScoutMob. Went for an oyster po-boy but found crawfish were in season, and only $5.95@lb. So, we heaped up with crawfish and got the po-boy, too. Sensational! Crawfish had just the right seasoning kick and were buttery delicious. But, the loaded po-boy was not to be overshadowed with perfect fried oysters and chewy-fresh bun. I'd ask for a little extra remoulade sauce, though. We asked for the french fries well-done and they were delivered exactly so. It was so good and reasonable we kept the ScoutMob deal in our pocket.

Joy of joys, they're located on the street right behind us. We'll be regulars, and we're taking our son and his family there for Father's Day brunch to suck dem heads!
