Visited here whilst staying in Cartmel. It was advertised on a Lakes leaflet and we're so glad we visited.

Lovely big car park and reasonably priced coffee shop/restaurant, including outside seating with stunning views of the river.

On our our arrival we were greeted by an enthusiastic but polite and helpful gentleman who told us where to pay, explained that we could take a break at any point and then re-enter by simply showing our paid for tickets. He also waited until we'd paid for our tickets before explaining the museums layout, including the Campbell exhibition and knowledgeable snippets about some of the vehicles. As we headed inside, we enquired as to the gentleman's connection with the museum, at which point he replied he was one of the owners!!

The museum is a credit to all its owners, caretakers, and numerous staff, and is kept in immaculate condition. We visited as a couple and would definitely visit again...my husband was in his element.

Thank you all for a wonderful experience....definitely worth a visit for young and old......and dogs!!

Family trip, 2 adults 2 children, the kids got a booklet to fill in as they walked round, even my 6 yr old daughter enjoyed it, tons of cars, motorbikes and great flash backs (the chopper, the old fiesta), went on to the bluebird exhibition, fantastic. We then went for cake and coffee, the nicest scone I have ever tasted topped off with sitting by the river outside the cafe, stunning.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a museum. There are a vast range of exhibits, from cars (including some rare examples) to motorbikes, children's toys and garage paraphernalia. It is all set out beautifully, with sound effects and mannequins over two floors. Particularly moving was the WW1 display. Of course the most interesting part is the Bluebird Exhibition, which has replicas of various Bluebirds, memorabilia and a film. Their website really doesn't do it justice, in my opinion! You can easily spend a couple of hours here. There is a cafe and toilets and good access for wheelchair users.

Great museum for both kids and adults. Loads to see and a good quiz for the kids to do as they go around the museum. The combined tickets for the museum and the lake boat trip are excellent value. My boys were 11 and 9 on the date of our visit and enjoyed both....would definitely recommend.

Well worth a visit with some nice displays. consists of cars, motorbikes, ( including a Isle of Man TT section) pushbikes, old shop displays, garage display, old motor related games from fairgrounds, and motoring memorabilia and a cafe on site.

Something for everyone with a "question sheet" to keep the children occupied.

The cars and bikes are of all ages and some are in excellent condition.

The museum is laid out in a one way direction of travel and crams a lot in. I can imagine it getting very busy on some days and thus spoiling any photo opportunities. It is all level floor and an elevator to the upper level so wheel chair access is good. Though a walk across the grounds is required to visit the Donald Campbell/Bluebird displays, which are in a seperate building.

The time taken to get around would all depend upon your level of interest in motoring.
