After seeing Southern Soul on Food Networks 'Diners Drive-Ins and Dives', I had to eat here. Guy Fieri went ape over the barbecue. So when I spent three nights in Jacksonville Beach in May 2013, I knew it was my chance. I mean 86 miles (in my mind) isn't that far for what I knew was going to be a great meal. And sure enough I wasn't disappointed. The food was fresh. And the barbecue was amazing. Now I'd recommend the ribs over pulled pork. I ate outside under the canopy. That was cool. The staff was very friendly and worked fast and hard. Looked like the food always left the kitchen pretty fast so people didn't have to wait long. So that was good. As always I get to restaurants early. And that was very smart here because I wasn't the only one early. The food is that good. This was my 8th 'Triple D' restaurant I've visited since 2012. And the food at these places has always been incredible. And this was true here. I highly recommend.
