“Great Fried Shrimp”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

We were staying on Jekyll Island and just came over for the day. There were so many restaurants to choose from but we decided on Iguanas. The store front was appealing and the nice lady manning the hostess table told us they had the best fried shrimp in town. So naturally we had to see if that was correct or not. Well the shrimp was very very good. We had the New England Clam Chowder which was good but not the best I've had. I ordered the Mac-N-Cheese side and loved it. It was one of the best I've had. My wife also enjoyed her side of green beans. The service was very good and the prices were fair. Not sure when we'll be back but we would definitely stop here again.

“Terrific seafood - best shrimp ever!”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Ate here this week and found the food extremely good for such a low key, casual place. They advertise their fried shrimp and the best in town and I think they have it right. I loved the shrimp, slaw and hushpuppies. They have it right on all counts. My husband had raw oysters and said they were excellent. The service is amazing. Our waiter couldn't have been better. Loved it and will go back when back in town.

“Nice”
Reviewed January 7, 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed the restaurant and the staff. The shrimp is really good and so are the burgers. The other options on the menu are fair. The ice cream machine still wasn't working so that wasn't so great.....

“Carribean Glaze Mahi Mahi; crab soup; free ice cream; beers”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

We might never have tried this if not for Tripadvisor. I am glad we did. The crab soup was the best I can remember (with sherry reduction). The grilled mahi mahi with the carribean glaze (served on the side, slightly sweet and definately NOT hot) was a great surprise. They will swap out sides easily and the beer list is long and the ice cream (soft serve) is free. My husband got the shrimp primavera which he liked but it was only mildly seasoned so it wasn't a run-away choice. It was MASSIVE and included FOUR slices of garlic toast. So, for the tender palate, this might be two meals. Lots of families.
