They're not kidding about the fried shrimp being excellent. As are the crab cakes - all crab meat. The free soft serve ice cream was a hit with our children. Service was very attentive.

Despite our misgivings after seeing Iguanas advertised on a highway billboard, three of us stopped in for lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and were glad we did. A friendly host met us with a warm welcome and seated us on the shaded patio, and our waitress was chipper and helpful. We shared a basket of onion rings to start - fresh, hot, and among the best I've tasted. An order of a dozen oysters on the half-shell disappointed at first, since some of the them were notably small; then we realized the platter held 16 oysters, more than compensating for the size!

When we asked for recommendations, the waitress told us the restaurant was renowned for its fried shrimp. We all ordered the daily special, described as seven shrimp - fried, grilled, or blackened. Two of us had the shrimp fried, thoroughly enjoying the light, tasty batter. I asked for them grilled and don't remember when I enjoyed shrimp more - sweet, hot, and perfectly cooked, so it would seem that frying would have overpowered them. Couldn't help noticing that the serving was in fact eight shrimp; can't complain of being shortchanged here. Crinkle-cut fries were nothing to write home about, nor were the hush puppies that accompanied the main dishes, but a dish of cheesy grits was an excellent accompaniment.

Though we'd had plenty to eat, it was hard to resist the offer of self-serve soft ice cream. A small stand inside the restaurant offered chocolate, vanilla, or a swirl of the two, to be put in a cone or a cup, with a variety of toppings (sauces, chopped cookies, gummy bears, etc) to choose from.

Prices were very reasonable for a good meal in a tourist destination, and the waterfront and pier are just a short stroll away. St. Simon's isn't on our usual route (we detoured off I-95 on a whim on our way from South Carolina to southern Florida), but we were more than happy with our meal and with the delightful focal point of the island.

We had just arrived and found this to be top rated for shrimp. Excellent, not greasy shrimp and fries. Great service. We ate outside on a perfect day. Loved it.

The most friendliest staff we have ever encountered. They went out of their way to accommodate us with a spirited toddler in our party.
The food was above average and was quickly served.
