and great history from the docent. I highly recommend taking the tour inside and out. The cemetary has notables of the island and beautiful old trees. I second the praise of the other reviewers.

We were here on the Monday before Christmas, and the church itself was closed. But the grounds were lovely, and it's one of the most beautiful cemetaries I've ever seen. Worth taking some time to stop here!

This is a wonderful historic church. Very beautiful! Lovely grounds with a very old cemetery as well. The church is all wooden with stained glass windows. One even by Tiffany. The person who built the church...his family owned the lumber mill, so the wood was of the best quality. Also it was built by ship builders so the intricacies are wonderful. They still hold services here. We stayed for the evening prayers. It was nice. Worth seeing if you like old churches.

This old church is historic and lovely to visit. The cemetary (spl?) is well kept and so interesting but we got "eaten alive" by mosquitoes.

Dive into the colonial period history of the island by exploring this wonderful site where the Wesley brothers first preached Methodism in the new world. Really interesting architecture inside the church, built using the same techniques as used to build sailing ships of that era. See where several Presidents of the United States sat during visits to St. Simons. Explore the grave yard and tombstones dating back over 200 years under the live oaks dripping with Spanish Moss. Just a short walk from Fort Frederica which is also a must-see. First permanent settlement by Europeans on St. Simons, established by Col. Oglethorpe in 1736. If you are here in the summer bring your bug spray, especially at the Fort where there are lots of deer flies.
