This is our second time at this restaurant. We will come back again if we are in the area. The bacon cornbread is delicious, as are the entrees. The crackers and spread served to the table are very different and tasty. Glad we came.

The food here was excellent. I had what Guy had, the fritters and the Grouper dish, and both were just plain awesome. The bacon cornbread was really good too. The place really does look like a dive, but don't let the appearance fool you. The bathroom was clean and the restaurant itself was clean, just a little drab on the decor. BUT the food is awesome so definitely worthy of a return visit.

We ate here for dinner on a Friday night when the place was over half empty and the surrounding restaurants were hopping. The interior is dark and dated with uncomfortable chairs and vinyl tablecloths. We started with the Brunswick stew, which was very flavorful, and the smoked quail, an odd appetizer consisting of two birds in a pot. It tasted like smoked quail. The Dungeness crab was served steamed and was a large serving. The filet mignon had litttle flavor of its own and the sauce on it tasted weird. The Vidalia onion casserole was pretty good, a little greasy though. Service was friendly and attentive. Entree prices were in the $14-29 range. Will probably try somewhere else next time for more of a seafood selection.

Excellent fish dinners, salads with house dressing was exceptional, crackers with dip served was very good. Bread pudding was so good. Service was amazing. Best place on the Island. Nice atmosphere

Maybe it was an off-night, on an Easter Sunday, at opening time. Our experience was OK, but nothing more. The lagniappe of flatbread crackers and a cream cheese spread was promising. Hubby had the Cajun Pasta. He said is was good. Not GOOD or better. He mentioned the ham was tough. I had the pan fried Mountain Trout, Cajun lima beans and the day's Yukon gold mashed potatoes.
The trout was relatively tasteless, very under seasoned. The skin was crispy and tastier. The mashed potatoes were oddly sweet. Tasty, but oddly out of place. The Cajun lima beans were the best part, though again - the ham was tough, even dried-out.
We got cornbread late, which was a bacon-cheddar version and not to our taste. French bread never did arrive.
You can do far worse, but we were not overly impressed.
