This restaurant I learned has been around since 1955. Though the decor is casual, the wait staff is dressed with ties and vests or jackets, have been there many years and do not have to write down an order - at least not for a table of two. The prices are moderate to down right reasonable. Though they will give you a menu the waiter (Gordon) knew it by heart and was also the pastry chef. He'll offer suggestions and even tell you how the dishes are prepared - he was a rookie with the restaurant having only been there for 8 years. I ordered the salmon once he let me know that it was Alaskan salmon, so obviously, wild caught. It was fresh and my piece probably weighed in at at least 22-24 ounces. My buddy had the grilled chicken and could not eat it all - it was a whole chicken! Including 1 appetizer and 1 desert the total price without tip came in at under $60 - no alcohol though it is readily available.
I would think that this restaurant is suitable for everything from families with young'ish children to large parties. I highly recommend it when you are in the St Simons area!
