This is consistently good fine dining and ambience. Interesting wines and game- really well prepared meals with expert and creative touches. The staff handles every aspect of your evening with much and obvious care. Expensive but always worth it.

Everything about Delaney's is top notch-the decor, the service, the wine list and especially the food! We had the Mulligatawney soup special, which was delicious, the buffalo strip steak and a veal special. The buffalo is a huge portion and cooked to perfection. The veal was served with a marsala sauce that also complimented the asparagus and baby potatoes. We were too full, unfortunately. to order dessert. The restaurant was not full when we left at 7:45 but most of the people there were locals. Our waiter was so pleasant and even the other waiters spoke to us as we left. We've eaten at almost every restauant on the Ilsand but this has to be the best!

Delaney's is the place to eat for a person who loves great taste, amazing variety and professional, friendly service. This restaurant may not have the ambiance of New York's finest, but the food will compare most favorably and the price is most reasonable. Love it

We too happened upon the bistro as a result of a tourist magazine. Unfortunately, we did not have reservations so we sat at a bar table and ate dinner. We over heard patrons saying that they have been trying to make dinner reservations for the last three months. Popular place! Lots of local patrons entered who were personally welcomed like they were coming home. Honestly, we felt like second citizens not only due to our seating but also to the unattentive service we got. The food was amazing (the duck is their speciality, yum). We will definitely go back on our next visit but will make reservations in advance to sit in the dining room.

We saw an ad for Delaney's in one of the tourist publications and decided to go there for a drink and dinner. We didn't get a reservation and got there before they opened for dining (6pm). Boy what a stroke of luck!!! The bartender was friendly and made us a generously proportioned cocktail and we asked if they could accommodate us for dinner. At first we feared we'd have to eat in the bar, but then they said they could give us a table. The service is fantastic, as is the food. Tom Delaney, the chef and owner, is a master, both as a chef and a restauranteur. Great detail is paid to every aspect of the experience. The restaurant has a great ambiance, is elegant but at the same time casual, and the menu is, well, unbelievable.

We struggled as it was trying to decide what to order from the menu, but then the server comes and recites the evening's specials for appetizers and entrees, which basically doubles your choices. WOW! We had foie gras, scallops, and rack of lamb, all perfectly cooked and dressed (sauces and sides), and for dessert, the housemade chocolate bourbon pecan pie (served warm with ice cream on the side), which was excellent. The wine list is also great.

We were so happy that we made reservations for the following evening, and that was a great decision. The service and food quality were both very consistent, and, surprisingly, most of the staff, even those who didn't serve us directly, remembered us--I felt like Norm on Cheers!!! We had escargots, scallops (differnt than the night before), and antelope. If I had to complain about anything, it was having green beans two nights in a row, but even they tasted good.

Eating at Delaney's was the highlight of our visit to SSI and the island should be very glad Tom Delaney graces their business community. Reserve ahead though, folks--even though not one local we spoke to mentioned this restaurant, there are many smart consumers who know it's name and reputation. It was busy both nights, in the middle of the week at the beginning of "low season"!
