The pier is a pier and people fish on it, not that much difference from other piers along the coast; however, once you are out on the east end you get a great view of the lighthouse and that alone makes the walk out there worthwhile. It is also enjoyable to watch the people fish and to see the boat traffic along the waterfront. A view of the park and the main street complete the picture. It looks like it is in very good repair unlike some we walked on in the Outer Banks recently.
