“Quiet, convenient, & friendly service”
Reviewed May 26, 2012

We have stayed on St. Simons in a condo before, but this was our first time in a hotel. I would call the Village Inn a small hotel instead of b&b. We were visiting for our niece's wedding and just staying 2 nights. Village Inn was perfectly situated for walking to the church and associated festivities. It is a lovely place just off Ocean Blvd, close to the pier and shops, but we were not bothered by any noise at night. They even had live music while we were there, but we did not have any problems getting to sleep. Our room was very nicely decorated and we happened to get a room on the end of the building so there were many windows with functioning shutters and a sweet little balcony with bistro table and chairs.

Since we were visiting with many family members, we did not partake of breakfast, but it appeared to be a good quality continental breakfast. Coffee was good. I think the only thing I would have wanted if we had stayed for breakfast would be something hot and homemade as this is what we are used to from B&Bs.

Service was excellent and staff was very friendly. I have found that everyone on St. Simons is always friendly! Guess they have no reason not to be! My own level of tension drops about 90% by the time we hit Kings Way!

Room Tip: We stayed in 203 (Edo Miller Room) and there was some AC noise, and wheels on gravel from the parkin...

This is a fairly nice facility that is in a perfect location related to the village. Our room was small but appeared to be clean. People were very nice. Very limited breakfast - bagels out of a bag, cereal, waffles, yogurt and fruit.

It was a very quiet and peaceful place during the day time. I enjoyed sitting out by the pool with a cup of coffee in the mornings.

But it's a whole different place at night due to the bar that's onsite.

Had a difficult time getting to sleep before midnight because of the volume of the live entertainment in the bar. In addition, had very loud patrons of the bar in the courtyard.

In all candor, if you enjoy a good nights sleep, this probably isn't the place you want to go when the pub is operating (which I believe is Thursday nights through Saturday nights).

Doubtful I'll return.

I never stay anywhere else, if I can help it. Very nice breakfast, but doesn't start early enough. Rooms are cosy, cool, and plenty big. I don't know how they accomplish all that at once.

Spent last week of April at the Inn....Was extremely surprised of the good reviews on here. First, you can't even call what they offer breakfast...unless you like canned fruit and english muffins. The Holiday Inn Express has a way better free breakfast. The rooms were ok..but you would expect better for the price. We had two incidents with people screaming and yelling at the pool after 10pm. When we called the office, no one was on duty. When we brought it up to management the next day, they just shrugged and didn't offer to do anything. Don't stay there if you have issues carrying suitcases up and down flights of stairs...no one will offer to help you and they don't have elevators. Next time we go back, we will definitely NOT be staying here. Please don't stay here if you want a positive hotel/inn experience.

This was a cute little hotel/inn. Very close to the village area and pier. An easy walk of no more than 5 min. Had corner room/mini suite that was charming and very comfortable. Service was fine and everyone most cordial. Fun bar in evening. Parking was not a problem. Pool was attractive and fun to sit out by for afternoon cocktail hour.

When making reservations I assumed we were getting a nice room in a quaint little local hotel. When I got there I found out that we had booked into the Bates Motel!!! The room was shabby and dated. The shower was a plastic 4x4 and the bed was too small. Not what you'd expect for almost $150/night!!

Room Tip: Make sure you know what section of the motel they are putting you in. You could be in for a BIG surp...

We apologize your stay at our overflow property 1 block away, Village Retreat was not satisfactory. We do not have pet-friendly rooms at the Inn, so guests are only given the option of Village Retreat if they are traveling with their pets.

Our receptionists are trained to explain the differences between staying at the Inn and Village Retreat. The Retreat is a our pet friendly property which borders a local park which allows easy access for guests and their pets. For guests not traveling with pets, Village Retreat is sold when the Inn is full, and at a lower price then the Inn.

Once again, we are sorry for your experience.
