Great location with nice rooms. The only bad part is the housekeeping staff is relentless. Iwas about 15 minutes late in checking out, and they banged on my door three times. Perhaps they speak no English, but it was very annoying.

We stayed at the Retreat-part of Village Inn and pub, but a short walk away from town. Loved being in these rooms--quiet, separate pool for these few units.
Staff was very cordial and helpful. We would stay here again.

I stayed two nights for my first trip to SSI. I brought my dog, so was placed in the 'Village Retreat' down the street. I was the only guest over there in the eight units overlooking the pool. Though the furnishings were worn, the bath was modern and appreciated having a small fridge and microwave. Had the pool to myself! I really enjoyed visiting the bar in the evening and meeting other travelers - we were having such a good time, no one wanted to leave for dinner so the bartender was kind enough to pick up our pizza for us to enjoy there! The breakfast was adequate but never saw the waffle batter. The location of the hotel is perfect - walk right to the shops and restaurants. My dog appreciated the beautiful park across the street!

Room Tip: If you have a pet, ask for room 406 - it's a suite and has a huge jacuzzi tub!

I recently stayed at this Inn for Labor Day weekend with my boyfriend and we had a great time. The room was accumulate and very cozy. The grounds are just beautiful and well maintained. The pool is on the small side and does not get a ton of sunlight but is tranquil and relaxing.

While not on the beach (actually about 2 miles away) this location is still excellent. Steps from restaurants, shops, the pier, etc. in the little "downtown" area of St. Simons. You can easily rent a bike and ride to the beach or drive and park free at Massengale park. We packed a lunch and did just that. There are places to rent chairs, umbrellas, and other beach items.

While continental breakfast is included we opted to explore and eat elsewhere and we highly recommend Palmer's Village Cafe which serves both breakfast and lunch...best breakfast on Island and only 2 blocks from the Inn. The juevos rancheros were delicious.

There is a Pub onsite and in the main building which is great fun in the evenings. They even have live music Friday & Saturday nights. Omar the bartender is fantastic and made our rainy Sunday night at the Pub a blast.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Village Inn and Pub. We really had no complaints at all. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We also liked visiting the Pub on Saturday night - great live music, nice atmosphere, relaxing. Overall, it was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. In addition, the establishment is within a short walking distance to shops, restaurants, the pier, park, and lighthouse. We recommend visiting the Pub on the property as well as a few of the following good restaurants: Saltwater Cowboy's, Mullet Bay, and Barbara Jean's. We highly recommend the Village Inn and Pub for your stay at St. Simon's Island.

This is the most beautiful Inn with a secluded feel. Close to everything, surrounded by huge oak trees draped with Spanish moss, the place is almost breath-taking. Our room had a journal in it that we (and others before us) took the time to write about their Saint Simons Island experience. Definitely worth the read with lots of good dining and touring tips.

We spent three nights and topped off all three at the pub where we enjoyed talking to the locals and other travelers. Because it was July, it was VERY hot and humid and we became familiar with the state mascot, the mosquito, and the state bird, the knat so we've decided that our next visit will not be in the dead of summer.

Speaking of dead though.....this is a place I would consider having my ashes left. Unfortunately, we brought home a couple shells from the beach that we later learned had live fiddler crabs in them so beware....those little guys hide VERY well.

Recommendation to the management at the Inn......small refrigerators in the rooms would be a huge addition to an already amazing establishment.
