Visiting Fort Frederica provided the opportunity to learn something about early Georgia history and the colonizers.
The site on the Northern part of Saint Simons Island is a national park and was open!
Although structures are few the site allows one to see the layout of the fort and the descriptive tablets at each building help us understand the life of the populace. The oaks and the Spanish moss are magnificent.
