We were visiting sister island Jeckyll Island, and asked someone who has lived locally 40 years where to eat good italian. He suggested Tramici saying it was not upscale, but it typically had good food, which is what we wanted. We ordered a house salad which was good, gnocci appetizer which was extremely overly salted, and 2 very simple pasta entrees of spaghetti marinara and angel hair with spinach & artichokes. We could not eat their bread because it was already "cheesed" and apparently they had none to offer that was not already prepared in this fashion... The spaghetti marinara was a small portion served in a huge bowl, with nothing to garnish it at all, it simply looked sad and lonely waiting for at least a sprig of basil, something.... anything. The other entree also was served with no thought to presentation, just poured in the bowl and carried out to our table. Both entrees were also overly salted, and something was off with the spinach it was so bitter I could not eat it This restaurant does not offer espresso (look, its an italian restaurant, so have the stuff, ok?) Reading this review you may think we're difficult or hard to please, no that is not the case. We simply could have made better quality food in about 15 minutes in our own kitchen. Sorry guys, you missed the mark with us, and it would benefit you to actually look at what you are going to serve, and taste occassionally as well since good food with good ingredients would not need such an unhealthy overdose of salt. Eating out is something we look forward to, and we do expect better than what we experienced here.
