loved the food, although the service was a bit questionable. it was undoubtedly busy while we were there, but our waitress seemed a little confused about what was going on. ads showed that they have live music on certain days. we had a basket of sweet potato chips to start, which were fantastic. one of us had the fish + chips, and the rest had the lowcountry seafood boil with added crab legs. this was a great deal at $18! big shrimp, delicious and fresh crab legs. really good! go when you have some free time.

Screaming kids, rude waiter, waited for our dinner for 45 minutes and took to long to be waited on. I had a bowl of gumbo which was watery. I can't recommend this place to eat. They did have a good band outside. It was quieter outside than inside. Bad experience!

For those that remember the TV show "Cheers" Catch 228 reminds me of this show. My wife and I have eaten here in June for the past three years when I attend a conference at Epcot on the island.

We usually eat the same items each year: raw oysters, Georgia wild shrimp, blue crab stew, and fresh catch dip. Each year we sit at the bar and devour these goodies. No doubt everyone that sat at the bar knew the bartender - who is a prompt and courteous server- and everyone else at the bar. This shows the locals support Catch 228. It also shows that if you want good tasty local seaford come to Catch 228.

We enjoyed the Georgia white shrimp the best. Not cheap but worth a pound of large freshly cooked white shrimp with a buffalo type of dipping sauce. The blue crab soup is tasty but could use more seasoning and a few more bits of crab. The fresh catch dip comes with four slices of nicely toasted and seasoned bread. The dip is rich with calories and flavor. The oysters were medium sized. But unless you are willing to travel to Acme Oyster Bar in New Orleans or a terrific oyster restaurant in Panama City Florida we found a year ago Catch 228 has decent oysters for consumption.

Happy hour is from 4:00 to 6:00 pm so your best drink deals are served during this time. We saw a young women come into for two quick shots and another guy gulp down a glass of wine because he was in a hurry. Go figure?

Come to Catch 228 to people watch and maybe you can make a new friend.

I had some of the best Sea scallops Ive ever gotten here. The blue crab soup was very good as well. My wife had a fried shrimp po'boy that was quite tasty.

I've been eating here since it opened and really dawned on me that this is one of the better seafood restaurants on the island. Service can be spotty, but their fried seafood is better than many of the staples located on the SSI.
