“32 Happy (70 + yr old) Fraternity Brothers”
Reviewed May 17, 2011

Our 3rd fraternity golf reunion at The King & Prince Beach Hotel since 1978 was, again, deemed a wonderful experience with excellent accommodations, delicious food, gracious hospitality and "Let's do it again in 2014" requests.
We never ran out of anything in #280, our ocean front hospitality suite, all calls to the front desk were responded to within minutes, the bell staff helped immensely with luggage, golf clubs and stocking all necessary supplies.
In 3 days we never encountered an employee without a smile on their face and a "how can we help you" attitude.
The Friday night Seafood Buffet should be Zagat rated, an overwhelming array of delicacies with Ritz Carleton quality at Holiday Inn prices.
The maintenance staff taught us how to work the seemingly complex DVD player for past reunion videos and housekeeping got all 7 3br Villas cleaned promptly so the "geezers" could take their naps and the card players could resume their games.
God willing we will return. We're trying to recruit more youngsters, in their 60's, to carry on the 33 year tradition of DePauw Delts!

AWESOME! What else can I say? The words top quality, beautiful, and grand are some of the first that come to mind. We usually take a trip here at least once a year with our family. It's located on the quiet St Simons Island right off of the GA coast. It's not a huge vacation hub, but it has all you need. The King and Prince is expensive but wonderful! It offers free parking, unlike most top notch hotels. It offers all kinds of rooms from regal hotel rooms to large family condo accomidations. They cannot be surpased on quality. It is super clean and full of luxury. The pools and grounds are kept prestine also. It's never too crowded, and the poolside service is wonderful! I can't wait to go back! :)

My most recent trip to the K&P was another great stay - i have been traveling to this Georgia institution since the mid-60's as a small child with my family, and it has consistently held up its' standards of excellence. The staff is very accomodating, friendly, and attentive, the rooms extremely comfortable, and the setting lovely. One of my favorite activities is just lounging by the pool and enjoying the garden with a little libation from the bar.

My family and I live in Brunswick, Georgia, which is only about 15 minutes from St. Simons Island and the King & Prince Beach & Golf Resort. As a surprise for my husband's birthday, I booked a 2-bedroom villa at the K&P for the weekend. It was amazing! Even though we weren't far from home, it felt like we were a million miles away!

From the moment we checked in until the time we left on Sunday afternoon, everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. The pools sparkled, and the lawns were immaculate. We loved that our villa had covered parking and a private pool.

The size of our villa exceeded my expectations. We had friends over after dinner, and even with the adult chatter going on in the living area, my son was still able to go to sleep in the 2nd bedroom. The villa was beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. And, of course, nothing beats sitting out on the balcony listening to the sound of the ocean...which, by the way, is only a few steps away!

A favorite for my family... once we parked the car, we didn't use it again until it was time to leave! We ate lunch by the pool (it was very good and the service was quick), and we walked to dinner. There are several great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

We had a great weekend at the K&P! We're already talking about when we might visit again...and so are our friends!

This hotel is a good pick if you are 50+ years old and want some peace and quiet. I was disappointed by the lack of night life options around this hotel. If you like the beach, walking trails, and delicious seafood, this is the hotel for you. If you are under 40 and looking for entertainment, this is not it. The hotel itself was ok. The bathroom was very small. The bedroom could use new renovations- AC unit loud, wish there were chairs on porch, ceilings had the 80's "popcorn" bumps on it. I wish the hot tub in the hotel would stay open until at least 10pm- it closed at 8pm- that is way too early for me to unwind!

We stayed here for three nights. The room was clean and faced the ocean/pool. I heard other reviewers complain about the noise but I found it to be very quiet. This is one of the very few hotels on the island with the beach steps away. The buffet breakfast was worth the price and the staff was very attentive. I really liked the sand pit area on the side of the pool area. You could put a beach chair and have the convenience of the pool, but yet feel like you are on the beach. It is also a short bike or car ride to the village/pier where there was nice shopping and restaurants. The only complaint I had was that at 5 pm, the entire pool staff seemed to leave and the place was never cleaned up until the following morning.

My Mom and I recently spend one night here and very much regret that we couldn't stay for longer. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Great location. Friendly staff. Right on the Atlantic. Would stay here again and can't wait to go back!
