If you want to visit old authentic Olde South, this is the place to go. It is the home of the Founder of Roswell and one of the few pre-Civil War mansions to survive Sherman's attack on Atlanta.

Pros: A fantastic tour guide led a fun tour through the house, making jokes while explaining the again vibrant hisotry of the house. Again, the Historical Society had most of the original pieces of the house and had restored it wonderfully. The history of the family was also known.

Cons: Must be to the tour on the hour.

Advice: It is cheaper if you get to Roswell in time to see all three home: Bulloch, Barrington, and Archibald Smith.

Close your eyes and you can imagine life before the Civil War at the beautiful antebellum home of Barrington King, circa 1842. An excellent example of Classic Greek Revial Architecture. Expertly restored and filled with family possessions. The home and grounds remained in the family until 2002 when it was purchased and expertly restored. Listed as one of the 50 most beautiful homes in Atlanta by Atlanta magazine. Now open as a house museum located in the delightful historic town of Roswell. Two other antebellum mansions (Bulloch Hall and Smith Plantation) are also located in Roswell and open to the public.
