“Great food served in a trendy cramped closet!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

The quality is here - superb steaks, great menu items , great wine & bar - all done very well! - the weekends are another story all together! - It can only politely be described as a total [--] storm come Friday - Reservations are available but unless you are sitting in the back with a group - a reservation is no guarantee that you will have a $$$ experience. The tiny bar gets slammed very early & doesn't let up until 10:30 or so! - There is absolutely NO place to hang - dont sit at the bar booths for dinner unless you like having uninvited guests - the bar can get 3 deep with no where to even hover without folks standing basically on top of the bar booths - the entire space gets noisy, crowded and annoying very quickly - now that the weather is nice, outside seating is a preferable option - be agreeable to being seated outside - it will go a long way toward salvaging your evening - especially if it's date night. There are many great restaurants on Canton Street to choose from but just be aware that when going to Little Alley on a busy night (weekends) even with a reservation will not necessarily translate into a great experience for the money! - That being said, the food is mostly terrific, the service is also mostly top notch - ( the good servers are well aware of the crowding issues and overcome them admirably ) Enjoy yourself but dont be in a hurry and be patient especially on the weekends! - With that proviso, i highly recommend it!

“Christmas came late.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

Our son and daughter-in-law had given my wife and me a night at Little Alley Steak as a Christmas present last year and we were finally able to use the gift last night. First of all let me say that if you are going out to a high-end restaurant for dinner, having someone else pay for it is definitely the way to go!

Aside from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We chose a weeknight (Tuesday) and the crowd was moderate with most people seated at the bar early (looking like stock brokers and lawyers) and later beginning to fill the dining area. Our server told us that on weekends the place is always slammed. Crowd noise was moderate. The decor is modern "19th century" and the vibe is cozy. Our server was very friendly and took time to explain things about the beef that we did not know (and my mother had once owned a steakhouse). During our evening he always seemed to appear at just the right times without being obtrusive. My wife commented later that everyone on the staff acted as though we were important to them and they were happy to have the opportunity to serve us.

We began with appetizers followed by the dry-aged bone-in ribeye for me and my wife had the lamb shank. Both were excellent and my steak was cooked exactly as I had requested. We also recommend the potato au gratin and the roasted asparagus. The steak knives could be a little sharper.

The wine list is extensive and even though we are fairly knowledgeable wine drinkers, many labels were not familiar to us. Our server was very helpful in this regard and we were able to select a very nice Malbec to go with our meal. We finished off with a lovely bread pudding and ice cream dessert.

All-in-all, this dining experience was a highlight for us and we would definitely go back for a special time, with the service and atmosphere being particular strong points. The downside for us as retirees is that the prices are basically out of our league for more than special occasions (or gifts from our children).

“Over a year later and the food is still great!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

Over the past year, Little Alley Steak has tweaked their menu and their food but it is still beyond amazing!!! The Moroccan shrimp is still my favorite thing in the whole world. They know how to make a great cosmopolitan, not many place can.
Recommend making a reservation because it is a small place and it does get packed, especially on the weekends and on the 3rd Thursday (a big event in downtown historic Roswell – recommend checking it out at least once, a lot of fun!!!)
We are finally making our way through the rest of the menu. My husband says they make the best scallops any where! Our last visit, he finally had a NY Strip and said it was the best he ever had. All of the veggies are great (all of the potatoes are great and my hubby loves the brussel sprouts!).
The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Parking can be a bit difficult but the earlier you get there the easier it is to find.
Highly recommend!

“Great Atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

We were visiting friends in Atlanta and they recommended this restaurant as a favorite of theirs. We immediately liked the atmosphere - small, cozy, warm... Our waiter was funny, informative and attentive. The food was FANTASTIC - The sweet potato puree divine! My husband raved about the lobster bisque... I would highly recommend this great Steakhouse!

“Very Good Steak, Great Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Ate there tonight and had the dry aged ribeye. Steak was cooked properly. The lollipop ribeye is 18oz and cost $49.00. We had the mushrooms and green beans for sides. The. Service was fantastic. The room was a little dark at first but we just asked for the lights to be turned up and the waiter did it. Enjoyed the dinner very much and I woud return.
