Standard Diner Fare and Diner Quality. Nothing outstanding, but nothing was bad. It is a good safe option if you have picky eaters as the menu is extensive with lots of choices.

WE have eaten at Nicky's many times, and it is always a good meal. The hard part is deciding what to get, there are so many different things to choose from

This has to be the most gloomy place to eat. No enthusiasm from the wait staff, in happy customers, dessert case with a old piece of cheesecake in it.
The patty melt wasn't bad, expensive though
I had to wonder how old the food was.

We haven't been "regulars" here by any stretch - just a stop in every few months shortly after they opened, and a couple times this year (2013). Service has always been good, delivered by a friendly, competent, attentive, but also somewhat stressed out staff. We've had some breakfast items (omelets and such), wraps, reubens and some of the best moussaka - good coffee too....It hasn't been the Landmark or Marietta Diner for sure, but it was mostly respectable, clean etc...

But that was "then"....Now, the staff is different - less professional for sure - even with the absence of what we figured was the original owner/manager (a bit of a quirky demanding sort it seemed, but he never bothered us). This transition has coincided with what we understand from others to be a change in that ownership. During both of our most recent visits we were led to and seated at one of at least 10 empty booths - but each time the tables were still soiled with the jam and who-knows-what of the previous occupants. OK, so we can get the table and seats cleaned - no problem, but what's the deal with the host not even knowing the tables aren't ready to be assigned, and missing the goop on the surface even as he drops the menus and walks away?

Moussaka? Now has gone from some of the best, to some of the worst. Undoubtedly coinciding with the change of ownership was a change of chefs/cooks - there's no way the masterpiece we enjoyed last year was prepared by the same hands which concocted the stuff we were served last night.

Health department score: 80

We want to like this place, and we've given it a good shot - but if they don't get their act back together soon the curtain will be coming down on Nicky's. We had a hard time even rating it average as we've done here, but we're just not ready to lower the boom with a score of "poor" or "terrible", maybe out of a feeling of nostalgia or false hope?

Nevertheless, we can no longer recommend it - your results may vary :-)

First it took 10 minutes to order Gyro Platter. Menu clearly states that platter for $12.95 includes fries but they stated that fries was extra. Second a Gyro platter is not a Gyro and salad. If I wanted a Gyro I would simply order a Gyro sandwich but I did not. Their version of Gyro Platter is simply a Gyro sandwich with a side Greek Salad, not the normal slices of Lamb with pieces of pita bread to accommodate. Very disappointed in the value and lack of clarity of menu. When I arrived at pick up window I was told the platter also included fries (as stated on menu) but ordering waitress communicated that it did not include fries as clearly communicated on Menu. :-((
