“Good food, poor service”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Brought wife and daughter for Mother's Day brunch.

The food was quite good. I'm glad it was buffet style, because our server was rarely anywhere to be seen. I've worked in restaurants and I'm generally the last person to complain, but it was very bad. We had to flag our server down and personally request every refill of our drinks. When we were done eating, we sat at the table for upwards of half an hour before receiving our check.

It's a shame, we enjoyed the food, but the poor service has put us off of this restaurant.

“Beautiful space that has great potential. This place should be on kitchen nightmeres-Chef Ramsey would go nuts in here.”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We had walked past this restaurant many times and admired its beautiful chandeliers, large windows and white table clothes. We decided to go one Sunday to try their Sunday brunch.

First off the dinning room is lovely in its black and white damask. The wait staff however didn't look near as nice in their casual shirts and jeans. They would fit in the atmosphere much better if they were in crisp white shirts and black pants.

The black napkins and silver chargers at every place setting is a nice touch.

The food on the buffet left much to be desired. They had an omelet and waffle station but offered no breakfast meats or bread. No sausage, bacon, potatos, biscuits or toast. There was a seperate table with lunch options that was very heavy on sides but limited on main dishes. The pork tenderloin was bone dry.

“Sunday Brunch Delightful Surprise”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

While in Rome, Georgia, for a visit with our daughter in college, we ventured downtown to find a "new place" for Sunday lunch, around 1:00 p.m. We had seen La Marie's previously, but we weren't sure if it might be a bit pricey or too formal for our family of four. As we rounded the corner and saw the sidewalk "blackboard sign" advertising Sunday brunch for $12.95, we thought we would give it a try . . . and what a delightful surprise! We received a warm welcome, were seated immediately, and beverages were served quickly . . . the wait staff was wonderful. The table settings were very nice, from the silver charger plates to the wine glasses used for the iced tea. The food choices ranged from stations offering green/fruit salads to cooked-to-order Belgian waffles and omelettes, as well as a small room with hot buffet items of what I remember to be six to eight vegetables and side items and four meat/poultry items. The large, fluffy biscuits w/honey butter and fried chicken were favorites of my two children. However, the Belgian waffles came in a close second! The dessert station was also very nice, and the peach cobbler and strawberry cake, both, ranked high in my book of likes. Having coffee and dessert, ending the meal, was relaxing and was complemented with the soft music. We believe it was the owner of the restaurant who inquired as to whether we were enjoying the brunch, and he apologized that our table was a bit "wobbly" . . . which led into his telling us some history of the building. Nice touch! We were all so "full" after leaving La Marie's that we took a walk on the pedestrian bridge, over the river, watched fishermen along the banks of the river, and enjoyed the sunshine and light breeze . . . it was a LOVELY afternoon in Rome!

“HORRIBLE”

Went for special dinner date - wait staff dressed in jeans should have been a clue as to the quality of the food. Uncooked food and boxed pasta - really?

“Chicken Salad”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

What a wonderful place to visit for lunch with co-workers. Sun shining thru the window while you enjoy chicken salad, ambrosia, fruit salad and pasta salad in the sampler...and their sweet tea.. out of this world.
