My friend and I booked a night at this hotel as we were going to Nirvana Spa for the day and it was very close by. We weren't expecting much at all. However, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was modern and clean (if a little small) and we had a lovely dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. We will definitely return to Nirvana Spa and we will stay here again too- especially as we were given a great rate on a twin room as we were going to Nirvana, they have a deal going if you book both.

My Husband and I stayed here for 1 night as we were attending our nieces 18 birthday party close by.The hotel receptionist was not welcoming on arrival and you felt like you were a nuisance to her.The hotel itself is clean but very tired and needs updating.breakfast was okay could have been hotter.

A Good looking hotel, clean and sharp how a modern hotels should look.

At Dinner the service was slow, waited approx 5 mins to be seated, then another 5 for menu. wasn't even asked about drinks(wish i hadn't). 3 courses not overly quick but about 10mins between each. finished meal asked for bill, waiting 10 mins asked someone else then another 10 mins. my bill was only 3 pound. yikes.

Other wiser staff friendly enough but young, maybe just weekend staff?

We stayed at this hotel with 18 other friends as we were attending a charity even locally. The staff were very helpful particularly reservations who offered to change our rooms for us if we needed to be closer together with our friends. There were two types of rooms, standard and executive but both were more than adequate. the difference between them is that executive rooms have recently been refurbished and have a more boutique style to them but the same amenities. The staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. There were also family, disabled and smoking rooms available.

Our room was in the Siddlesham Wing and each room has it's own character with none of them being the same (there were so many of us we had time to compare). Some friends had a split level room and others had the old support beams in the middle that gave it real character. Our room had the river running right underneath it as a large part of the hotel is built up above the ground to accommodate flood plains.

The facilities were what you would expect, satellite TV, wireless Internet, rooms service etc.

The Poachers Pub next to the hotel served great food and is set in lovely surroundings next to the river, watch the walk over the tiny hump bridge to get there though, there is no direct route through the hotel.

Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and although buffet style the food was replenished often and did not become dry. My only criticism is that the breakfast staff were all a bit inexperienced and did not anticipate guests needs quite as well as the other members of staff. It would have been nice to be shown to a table and been told where to find things but you just had to find your own way.

We have decided to have a reunion at this hotel next May with all the friends who came and more besides.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past two years for business and as the title says it is 'ok'.
The staff is generally friendly, but not going to go out of their way.
The rooms are 'good enough', but they are getting a little dated.
The bathrooms are not overly fancy, but everything works.
The food has always been acceptable and I have not had trouble with the service.
Having the pub next door is a plus. Especially, because there is nothing in the area, specifically within walking distance.
I only go back and forth to work, via taxi. So I cannot comment on its location for vacationers. However, I believe it does have good motorway access.
Personally, I believe it is a little over priced for what is offered, but since there is not an over abundence hotels in the area they have the advantage.
I will continue to stay at this hotel, until they give me reason not to.

Stayed for one night at end of April, probably against my better judgement given prior experience with Best Western.
Hotel was relatively easy to find not far from A 329/M4. Whilst staff were good/purposeful and efficient generally although receptionist had recently been transferred from Stalag 17 - pretty unwelcoming with a not particularly good command of English.

Room was small to average size but clean and very comfortable. Main complaint was ambience - a very sterile corporate feel with nothing particularly going on or for guests to do other than prop up bar - small gym granted. Dinner was on the pricy side and anyone looking for an early start into London would be disappointed as breakfast did not get started until 7 am.

Overall cost £152 inc breakfast & dinner. Difficult to build a case for value.
