“3rd stay at Mulberry Grove”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2011

This was our 3rd great stay at this motel...my wife & kid and I try to visit Savannah & Tybee Island at least once a year, and we've decided on the Inn @ Mulberry Grove to stay. It's a quick 15 minutes to the river front in Savannah...and yes, Tybee Island is quite a drive, 30-45 minutes.

But we need to save $$$, and a night here is pretty reasonable, a little over $50 a night if you check the discount travel websites. Your mileage may vary, depending on the time of year. Rooms are clean, nice, and there's free wifi & a decent breakfast.

People giving negative reviews seem to expect 4-star accommodations, but this is just a road-side motel, not a 4-star hotel. Nicer, cleaner, and more comfortable than most motels, and a great place to spend the night on a budget.

Room Tip: Book online to find the best deal.

This hotel is similar to an outdoor corridor motel but is much cleaner and more modern. The rooms were nicely decorated and spacious. Hot breakfast is provided in the morning and provides a nice array of choices. Overall it was a pleasant stay. It is a bit of a drive to downtown Savannah so if you were looking to be right downtown this would not be the place to stay. Right off I-95 and recommended for those road tripping from the North to the South or vice versa.

Want a comfortable and affordable place to stay just outside Savannah, Georgia. The Inn at Mulberry Grove is just the place. Very comfortable, clean and a good value. Excellent breakfast and the best bisquits and gravy ever. Only about 10 minutes from downtown Savannah, just off the highway. You won't be sorry you stayed here.

The hubby and I stayed here for 2 nights. The room was really nice. If you have your own car and dont mind driving about 15 minutes from Historic Downtown Savannah then this is a good place. We were looking for a place near downtown and most places in downtown were on the expensive side so we ended up picking one a few minutes away. The continental breakfast was really good, make-your-own waffles, sausage, eggs, biscuits and juice, along with cereal. The air conditioner really worked and made the room cold if that is what you're looking for. The fridge was good, just took a while for it to cool things. There was free internet in the room and free parking. Everyone there was really nice.

would definitely consider staying here again if we come back to Savannah.

Great stay for the money. Basic clean rooms. $54 incl taxes, right off of I-95. Strong water pressure, fast cooi air conditioning. Best part, very friendly staff.

This Motel is far above the average motels in the area. It is not a $300 a night Hotel, but for the $ you can't beat it. The rooms are clean, queit, comfortable and the staff was Very friendly and polite. They serve a hot breakfast, not just a pastry and a cup of coffee. The next time in the Savannah area this is where we will stay. Just a few minutes form the Historical Downtown and River Street, but without the noise of traffic and slamming doors all night. They actually have a 10:00 PM Quiet Time Policy. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and quiet place to rest you can't beat the Inn at Mulberry Grove. 100% Pleased with our stay.

We stayed here on the recommendation of friends who had also stayed here previously. There were both positives and negatives of this particular hotel, but none of either side stand out as spectacular.
The price of the rooms are outstanding here - we paid $79 the first night and $89 the second night. This price included a shuttle service to the trolley tour, as well as two two-day tickets for the trolley tour. We did not use the shuttle as it only runs twice per day - as we were traveling with two two-year olds, we did not want to be stuck without a car. However, the trolley tickets and tour were great - definitely a plus.
The rooms were standard issue hotel rooms - nothing fancy. Being a little nitpicky, they could definitely touch up some areas with paint and stain in order to keep the room from looking 'old', but overall the rooms were just, well, rooms.
On the negative side for the rooms, my twin toddlers were walking around in their bare feet for about thirty minutes and after that, they were BLACK. I mean, I am not a germaphobe by any means, but seriously, WHEN is the last time they cleaned their carpets?
Breakfast was ok, but if you get there anytime after 8:30 or so, you are out of luck. Doesn't appear that they restock their breakfast food after the initial time, so be prepared. The seating area was very tiny but appeared to be clean.
Overall, if you're expecting something fancy, this is not the hotel for you. If you are expecting a great deal within easy driving distance to Savannah for under $100 a night, then I would stay here. It all depends on what features are important to you and your family.

Room Tip: Call and speak directly to hotel for best rate.
