My wife and I stayed in their whirlpool suite in mid-September. The rate for this type of room was better than others in the area, which we appreciated. The location is perfect if you're going to Savannah most of the time--about fifteen minutes from downtown. It's a little difficult to get to from the road the first time, but that's unavoidable. When we arrived in Pooler before check-in time, we stopped in at the Magnolia to ask some questions. The gentleman at the front desk was pretty unfriendly, but he didn't know yet that we had a reservation. When we did check in some hours later, it was a complete turnaround on his part, and everything became "yes sir" and "of course sir." The suite was nice, decorated well for a hotel room, and it was clean except for some stuff in the whirlpool tub, which we took care of ourselves. It was, however, very small, even compared to less expensive suites in the area, and we felt a little cramped. If the suites without a whirlpool are the same size, however, it might not be as bad. We were treated well by the rest of the staff and even allowed to grab a few donuts when we arrived late for breakfast. The weekend rates are pretty high, though, so we checked out the next day. It was a pretty good experience, but the treatment from gentleman at the front desk before he knew we were paying kicked it off on the wrong note. Also, the price is high for the size of the room and amenities offered.
