Me and my husband are having absolutely horrible experience. We arrived in the evening, hoping to enjoy widely advertised pool/hot tubs area. There is no one light outside, so we had to ask a receptionist for the directions and had to walk with the flashlight to find our way to the pool. When we finally got there, we fund a lock on the entry door, no pool, no hot tubs, no fire in any of the fireplaces. They close everything after dark, you just have to stay in your room. Such a disappointment after paying almost $300 per night. Our weekend is ruined, we will never come back to this place with cheap management again.

We usually stay at the Inn when visiting Callaway Gardens but every once in a while when we feel like pampering ourselves by shelling out a few more dollars, we spend a night at the Lodge and Spa. The pluses are the facility is well maintained; the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed with a large bathroom; the staff is attentive, helpful, friendly and professional and one gets that "upscale" feel. You pay more but you get more than other Callaway/Pine Mountain alternatives in terms of atmosphere and service. The room rate now includes entrance to Callaway Gardens and two bottles of water. Some negatives, but not show breakers - the staff is not particularly speedy about picking up room service glasses, cups, dishes and trash outside rooms; the cigarette cans at the entrance looked like they had not been emptied in days; and the restaurant is a little pricey, especially for breakfast. The last time we stayed there one could just get cold items from the breakfast buffet at a reasonable price but now the cost has been raised to near that of the full buffet. If you are a breakfast person the only other option is to drive to Pine Mountain. One should be aware that the parking lot is nestled in the trees, so during busy periods, one could have to walk a fair distance to his/her vehicle. Overall this is a pleasant, relaxing choice and lives up to what we consider our expectations for a Marriott.

We spent one night at The Lodge during our Spring Break in April. We arrived around lunch time and were greeted with a smile! The front desk rep gave us our passes for the Callaway Gardens and described all of the things going on in the park during our Wednesday and Thursday stay. Our room was not avaiable until the 4:00 check-in time, but they held our baggage at the desk for us. We were offered a different room if we preferred to check in early, but we declined because we knew the room we were assigned (8446) had an amazing view of the pool and fountain, and was on the top 4th floor. Our room was beautiful. Separate bath tub and shower with amazing tiles and granite. Very clean. A plus is there were 2 Queens instead of the normal 2 full beds that most hotels have. A little extra elbow room for all 4 of us. Through sliding glass doors there was also a great little private balcony with 2 chairs and a table. It looked like most rooms had these, and the 1st floor rooms had little patios just outside the doors with the same chairs and table. I would imagine that would be great if you have small children as they could run around and play while you sit and enjoy.

We were fortunate to have amazing weather for biking the 10 mile loop and various paths throughout the gardens. The heated pool was warm enough for our kids (age 8 & 10) to swim, and beside the pool are 2 wonderful jacuzzi pools. Beautiful stonework and landscaping around the property. We loved that the lobby offered ice water and apples for a quick cool off between bike rides. We did not dine at the on-site restaurant, but did order 2 appetizers to bring down to the pool. Delicious!

We noticed that the Lodge is actuall a conference center as well. I would imagine it would be a great place to have a conference, or even better, a wedding & reception. The ammenities were well suited for it. There is also an on-site spa, but we did not have any of those services. The guest rooms did offer the spas signature body wash, shampoo & conditioner, which is amazing and avalable for purchase.

We would definatley return to the Lodge during the weekdays. I would imagine at peak season and weekends that it tends to get crowded, but Mid-April was a great time.

Room Tip: We stayed in 8446 (4th floor which is the top floor, room 46) which had a blacony and view of pool a...

My wife and I had an overnight stay here to get away from spring breakers at beach. It's in a beautiful secluded area of West Georgia.Hotel is on Callaway Gardens property. Our room was nice as well as the beautiful and spacious bathroom. Everyone was friendly and helpful during our stay. We used the spa for a couples message and would have passed if we knew the prices.
The pool area closes at 9pm and is a ways away from the hotel. All the staff are very helpful and courteous. We ate at the hotel restaurant and it was good but not $$$$ good.
Overall I would recomend this property just know the cost ahead of time with extras

Room Tip: specify if you want a 'nature' view or pool view

We are pleased that you and your wife had a great time here at the Lodge away from the chaos of Spring Break at the beach. Hopefully the swaying of the tall pine trees was all that you heard.

We spent three days at the Lodge and Spa at Callaway. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby is nice and welcoming. The rooms are okay We stayed in a room with two queen beds. Each room has a little balcony with a little table for two to enjoy the view. It was quiet. The loudest noise I heard was the room next door returning in the evening. I wish all comforters/ bed spreads would be washed after each visit. Don't like seeing hair that is not mine on a cover. I won't go near a bed spread in any hotel so this was no different. the bathroom was clean. The only complaint we had was we had a room for 4 which we registered for, and got towels for three which we did not notice until too late. House keeping did bring up more towels, but promptly took them the next morning, and left towels for 2 people.... The pool was a little slow in getting towels outside in the pool area too. People waited for over an hour... Should not happen. Enjoyed eating at the bar. The food was delicious, but you must be a patient person because although we were there early, 5:00ish, the wait for food was long..... The location of the hotel is great! You can walk into part of Callaway from the hotel. We would stay here again as a nice little get away for the family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool, it is the backside of the hotel.

My husband and I had an overnight stay here to have a little time away. It's in a beautiful secluded area. Our room was nice as well as the beautiful and spacious bathroom. Everyone was friendly and helpful during our stay. We used the spa for a couples message and I got a facial. Everything was just great. The changing area was very nice where I then used the sauna and steam room. Then I waited for our message in a very relaxing sitting room. We really enjoyed the whole experience. Went to dinner at a great little local restaurant then relaxed that evening in the hotel lounge and bar. The breakfast the next morning was also very good. Overall it was the perfect getaway for us.

Spent one overnight at this First Class Marriott Hotel on the Callaway Gardens property with a girlfriend on our way from Atlanta. The Spa was too expensive to use, with most services over $100...the hotel staff was friendly and helpful and room clean and public areas delightful! The woodsy setting was refreshing. We were able to get a TravelZoo special for $169.99, which included (2) buffet breakfasts, (2) days admission to the Gardens and a $50 spa credit. The resorts ground were beautiful! Even though the Gardens were not in bloom in mid-March, were were grateful the resort offered a TravelZoo special so we could enjoy the resort and amenities at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Request a room with a LOW number...the only entrance (main one) requires guests to schlep baggage th...
