“Good service small portions”

Service is good here. Food tastes good, but the portions are small for the price. Has a small store in the resturant.

Thank you for your visit. We appreciate your review. We're surprised by the comment that the portions are small. Typically, the portions are huge. We'll be sharing your thoughts with the manager of the restaurant. We hope that you will visit again in the future.

“Lovely View and Good Food”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

Love their bisquits with gravy! Food is very good, though perhaps a little more expensive than you'd pay for the same type of stuff down the mountain in Columbus. The view, if you can get a seat by the window especially is great. Take a stroll through the country store too and bring a few goodies home with you.

“A Table with a view of the tree tops and mountain valley”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Good food. Extremely crowded, very little chair room at a table for four. Had reservation. Served within a reasonable time. Children's menu (and crayons). Entrance through "store" which is a gift shop with lots of breakable things. View from table was worth being crowded.

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit. November and December can be very busy times with the bustling holidays around Fantasy In Lights. We do hope that you will make it a point to visit again in the future. And, being in Montgomery, you are close enough to enjoy many seasons of the year. We appreciate your post.

“Great southern homestyle food at a great price!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Visited Callaway Gardens during Thanksgiving weekend, so it was extremely crowded and busy; however, even with the crowd, everything with smooth as silk. We came for dinner on Saturday around 6pm and there was a crowd, so were told it would be about 45 min to be seated. Amazingly, they were right on time! Furthermore, we were seated, had appetizers, then dinner, and were out the door in an hour, so that was really amazing! Food was wonderful, had the chicken fried chicken with gravy, mac & cheese, and fried green tomatoes along with biscuits and cornbread with muscadine preserves and it was heavenly. There were 5 of us adults and everyone was more than satisfied with food and prices. My husband ordered the fried chicken which they ask 20 min on cooking time and we were still out in an hour. He said it was some of the best fried chicken he had eaten in a long time. Son-in-law said the same about his chicken and dumplings. Total meal for 5 adults with 2 appetizers was $65, so we weren't sure which was better, the food or the price.

That is the kind of review we can read over and over. We are so glad that you and your family were satisfied all the way around. Thank you for taking the time to post. (We just discovered this page that has "Callaway" misspelled, so we apologize for the delay in responding). We hope y'all are able to visit again soon as every season provides a great reason to visit...especially when you are as close as Thomasville.

“Good food, nice atmosphere”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The food was good, although some of it was warm rather than as hot as we would have preferred. Plus it took about 40 minutes to get our order. That said, we would go back because we liked the atmosphere, family oriented. We also enjoyed strolling through the Country Store. I recommend, just allow plenty of time.
