Friendly, warm atmosphere with quality food; very tasty; reasonably priced; and, excellent portions.

“Local Charm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

We had Sunday lunch at the New Perry Hotel Restaurant and were treated like family. The celery soup is a nice start to the meal and the menu options are varied. We had the country fried steak which was nicely prepared and the mashed potatoes tasted like "mom used to make". We didn't save room for dessert but will return just for dessert sometime soon! Our waitress was fantastic and it was nice to see everyone on staff pitching in as the dining room became busy!

“Love New Perry Hotel restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Or family loves to eat at the New Perry Hotel restaurant. The portions are generous and very good, and the complimentary cream of celery soup is a nice surprise! The owners and staff are helpful and very proud of their hotel and the progress that is being made--and, they should be! Next time in Perry, take some time to drive to the beautiful downtown Perry area and eat at this historic hotel.

And, check out The Tavery, a nice bar on the opposite end of the lobby from the restaurant. Nice, cozy area of the hotel.

“Everyone was fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

We walked in about 8:20 pm to have dinner in the hotel. They told us that they had just closed because of it being slow. Their waitress had left but the chef was still there. They opened the dining room up for us and the owner's sister became our waitress. We received yummy hot creamy celery and a relish tray. Our entrees: Chicken and dumplings for me and chicken fried steak and mushroom gravy for hubby. We received two veggies and rolls along with our entrees. The portions were large! We couldn't finish it all. It was all great! We were offered desert and decided to take a slice of red velvet cake to go. It was homemade and yummy when we ate it later. Before we left, we were invited to tour the hotel. We went upstairs and checked out a suite, a full size bed room, and twin bed room. They were all decorated with antiques and beautiful. The rooms all had complimentary bathrobes and high end
shampoos, soap and lotions. If we come back through Perry, we will stay at this hotel and eat at the resturant again. The family that own and run this hotel are so friendly and proud of their establishment as well they should be.

“Snowbirds should flock here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

What a welcome relief from all the fast food chain options! We ate here twice, on our way down and back from FL. The dinners were such an outstanding value. For less than $10, a complete entree plus 2 sides, including yummy hot rolls that taste like homemade, plus a complimentary starter of the best homemade cream of celery soup I have ever eaten and a small relish tray.
The meals are like mom (who was a great cook) used to make, both in composition and quality; some are recipes from the original Perry Inn cookbook. This is not fast food, it is an elegant historic dining room with tablecloths and fresh flowers, in a historic old inn. But the service was prompt and attentive. The only drawback was that we were kind of lonely, since there were very few other patrons there. This inn is under new management, and I hope locals and tourists will give it a try so that it can survive. It's 5 minutes off the interstate in "downtown" Perry, and well worth taking the time to find.
